Okinawa Weather on 21st June
☀️ Haisai! I’m CULT.
Today, the weather in Okinawa was the hottest I’ve experienced in 2025. It was a day where sweat poured down like rain during the entire snap shoot in Okinawa. The temperature was also very high, with a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius, but since there was a constant breeze, it felt like a refreshing kind of heat.
Miebashi Area

This is the view of the sunrise at Miebashi around five o’clock this morning. It’s also known as dawn.
I usually have a fan running at home, but strangely, it was off today, so I woke up a bit earlier. The birds were already chirping and starting their day.

I’m on my way to pick up the parked car. I have a baby photo shoot today, and with the weather being so lovely, I’m already looking forward to capturing some beautiful pictures.

This is the road leading to the American Village. While waiting at the traffic light, the sky looked so beautiful that I wanted to share it with you, so I took a photo.

This is the Urasoe City area. Although it was Saturday morning, there was no traffic congestion. It took about 34 minutes to get here from Miebashi.
American Village

I visited the American Village again today, following yesterday’s visit. You can take a look at yesterday’s view of the American Village here. It was during sunset and night. Today was another day with stunning clouds and a beautiful blue sky.

I arrived a bit early and was taking some weather photos. This is Chatan Sunset Beach, and despite it being a Sunday morning, I could see people enjoying a swim.

There was a wedding at a nearby hotel today, and I saw a bride in her wedding dress having her photos taken. I used to do a lot of this kind of photography in Korea about 13 years ago. It’s quite fascinating to see it again. In Europe, I used to do such shoots about three or four times a year.

Interestingly, until about 9:30 in the morning, it didn’t feel particularly hot, but as soon as it hit 10:00, it felt like the temperature suddenly rose. Don’t worry, it’s not the suffocating heat like in Osaka or Tokyo.

Recently, the design of the Starbucks Okinawa mug has changed. If you like it, consider purchasing one.

I’ve already had a glass of cold water, but while waiting for a meeting, I’m enjoying a cup of drip coffee. I usually prefer hot coffee, but today I opted for an iced drip coffee. It was quite warm, you see.

Today, Defo Island is as splendid as ever. Since it’s still morning, there weren’t many people around.

After the shoot, it’s back to Sunset Beach. Running around definitely worked up quite a sweat. However, if you walk around calmly, it doesn’t feel unbearably hot.

When I went into the water for filming, I also gave my feet a refreshing wash. By the way, tap water is cooler than seawater. The seawater isn’t hot, but it’s definitely not cold enough to catch a chill.

Personally, I’ve been fasting for 18 hours, and although the rule is to have a salad as the first meal, it was so hot that I went to Blue Seal. I felt like I would be overwhelmed by the heat if I didn’t have it now.

The cone looks pretty in photos, but if you stack the ice cream in two layers like this, it melts quickly and gets on your hands. If you’re going to take photos, please opt for a cup.

After finishing the shoot, I move on to the next schedule I had in mind. There’s a huge difference in the number of parked cars between 9 AM and 11 AM. At 9, there weren’t many cars, but by 11, it was almost full.
How to Get to Sueyoshi Shrine

Ryukyu Hachisa Sueyoshi Shrine On the way, I had a glass of cold water. It was one of those hot days where you just can’t seem to cool down, no matter how much you drink.

The path to Sueyoshi Shrine is… truly rough and challenging. It’s definitely not a place to visit in the summer. The road is inconvenient, and there’s an unpaved path with a slope of about 30 degrees, which could be dangerous. I’ll organise it and show it to you again later.

After successfully capturing photos of Sueyoshi Shrine, here is the view of Okinawa Naha from a high hill. It looks splendid today!

Returning the rental car and heading home. The clouds were so beautiful that I captured them in a photo along with the monorail.

After finishing all my work and returning home, I noticed some stunning clouds and decided to capture them again. These days, Okinawa has been offering such wonderful days, one after another. In fact, there was a forecast for rain today, and it did rain a bit. I think it was about 20 drops in total; when I was passing through Urasoe City, raindrops fell on the car window, which made me a bit worried, but it stopped after a few minutes. For the time being, even if it rains, I don’t think the rainfall will be much more than this.
Many people keep asking me about the weather these days without even reading my posts, but I don’t plan to keep answering. Instead, I’m working on creating a chatbot, so stay tuned for that 🥰

We have a lot of bottled water at home, exactly like that one. We always keep about 10 boxes as emergency supplies, but even though we have water, I went to the convenience store today to buy some cold water because it was hot. In our fridge, there can only be Korean gochujang, eggs, salad, and salad dressing. If I don’t do this… I gain weight. It’s my little health strategy.

After returning home, I immediately took a cold shower, drank some refreshing cold water, and then organised some clothes to do the laundry. This is the T-shirt I wore today, and the white lines are salt marks from sweat. It’s evidence of how hot the weather was in Okinawa today. It was quite warm yesterday too, but the lines weren’t as pronounced as this.
Today, I’ve created another piece of learning data for the AI chatbot to inform it about the weather. It’s all in preparation for those planning to visit Okinawa next year. Well then, I’ll be back tomorrow with weather photos from Kouri Island and the northern area. Matayasai 👋
