Okinawa Weather on June 22nd
👋 Haisai! I’m CULT.
Today, the weather in Okinawa was really hot. I travelled all over Okinawa from the south to the central and northern parts for filming. Although there were occasional showers, they were brief and sporadic, and overall it was quite a sweltering day. The temperature reached a high of 32°C and a low of 27°C.

This is the scene from last evening. Just before sunset, there was a crazy downpour for about 30 minutes, and afterwards, a double rainbow appeared like this. Looking at it this way, it seems as if the rainbow is showering rain.
From Naha to Kouri Island

This is the morning view of Naha.
It seems the air is clearer, perhaps because it rained briefly last night. Personally, I feel there’s a big difference between when I lived in Prague and now in Okinawa. In Prague, if it didn’t rain for about a week, you could visibly see the dust in the air. However, in Okinawa, even if it hasn’t rained significantly for over a week, the air doesn’t feel dirty. Could it be due to the sea and the sea breeze?

Today, I’m off to pick up a rental car again.
I’m using the service exactly as it would be for a real customer, to experience how it actually works. This way, I can provide direct feedback on any inconveniences. Launching a new brand… it’s quite challenging.

As I passed through Nago City and entered Nakijin Village, it started to rain quite a bit. It rained heavily for about 10 minutes, enough to require the third setting on the car wipers. It was a very short but intense downpour.

I deliberately didn’t use the wipers on the way to take pictures of the car, but it didn’t work out… There are watermarks left… I haven’t taken the rental car review photos yet…
Kouri Island

We’ve arrived at Kouri Island. It’s still morning, so there aren’t many tourists around. That plastic bag over there isn’t rubbish… it’s being used to securely set up a parasol by burying it under the sand. The wind is always strong on Kouri Island. The hill opposite the island is high, and the entire island is elevated, creating a terrain where the wind constantly gathers on the beach side.

I took so many photos of Kouri Island that I’m replacing them with a paragraph.
The advantage of this blog is that later on, when writing feature articles, I can link back without needing to upload anew. After a year, I can link all posts from June 1st to 30th for you. Well… the weather fairy chatbot will summarise it for you anyway.
Anyway, this was the scene on Kouri Island this morning. Set off right away 🧳

After completing an intense photo shoot on Kouri Island, it’s time to move to the next location. As noon approaches, more and more tourists are arriving. Naturally, everyone was dressed in cool attire.

It was so hot… I bought a bottle of cold water while moving around. I’m sweating like it’s raining.
However, it’s not as unpleasantly hot as in Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, or Osaka. Those places have heat domes due to the high-rise buildings, right? Okinawa, being an open island, doesn’t feel as uncomfortable as a city, even though the humidity is high.
Bisezaki and Bise Fukugi

The next shooting location is Bisezaki.
Wow.. it’s low tide, so the water is so shallow that it’s hard to even drown. And when I dipped my feet in.. the water is warm. Almost like hot water.. The water at Kouri Island was definitely cold, right? The water at Bisezaki is warm. By the way, all the people over there are here to enjoy swimming.

After the shoot, I captured a shot of Ie Island.
It feels like a castle where a boss from an old game called Ys might live. In fact, I haven’t visited Ie Island yet. If I do get the chance to go, I’ll be sure to share my experiences with you all.

On my way back to the car park after the shoot. I took a picture because the house was pretty. The Bise Fukugi is a forest path, so it’s definitely cool and pleasant.

Still, coming out to the beach, it’s so hot… I think I’ll have a zenzai. At 300 yen, it feels quite affordable for Bise Saki.

In Korea, it’s called patbingsu. Zenzai is actually quite similar to patbingsu. Well… when cultural exchange is active in East Asia, the food tends to become similar too.

Before leaving Bise Fukugi, I capture one last shot as a memento. Anyway, I have to come back here next week.

While passing by, I took a photo to capture how people were dressed. Honestly, wearing that today might feel a bit warm.

While taking photos inside the car, I touched something and my hand got sticky. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and… there was a cute cat.
From Ginoza Village to Urasoe City

Today, I visited the Ryukyu Hachisha Kin Shrine. Just one more to go among the eight shrines. I aim to include all the information about Okinawa on my blog. I’ve been preparing this grand plan for five years and am always putting it into action. 🥰

Today, I’ve heard there’s a festival in Urasoe City, so I’m hurriedly on my way to visit. I wish someone had told me about this earlier. It’s an Eisa festival, a traditional Okinawan dance festival.

It seems like the evening will end with fireworks, which might explain why the roads are already jam-packed.

In the end, I couldn’t find a parking space, so I gave up and went back home. I should post about this… It would be easier to introduce it next year, but I’ve missed the opportunity.
Return and Conclusion

I returned home in the evening. It’s slightly sunset time. I’m completely exhausted from today’s snap shooting in Okinawa, so it’s really hard to do anything more. Although I want to do more research and work, I have a full day of shooting again tomorrow, so I’ll leave it at that. By the way, the sunset is beautiful.

This was my dinner. I absolutely didn’t want to eat anything hot, so I had zarusoba with cold noodles and a tofu sushi bento. It’s not even 10 PM yet, but I’m so tired that my eyes are closing on their own. I’m not even sure how I’m managing to write this right now.
It looks like tomorrow will be quite a sunny day. I’ll organise and show you the weather in the northern, central, and southern parts of Okinawa through photos. I’ll wrap it up here and come back with more Okinawa weather updates tomorrow. Matayasai 👋
