Weather in Okinawa on October 2nd

☀️ Haisai! This is CULT.
Starting the Okinawa weather report for 2nd October 2025.
Today in Okinawa, it was quite a hot day. I returned from Miyakojima yesterday, and it definitely feels a bit hotter on the main island of Okinawa compared to Miyakojima. It’s about 2-3 degrees higher, and while Miyakojima is quite windy, the main island feels slightly less breezy. Usually, there’s at least one heavy shower a day, but I didn’t see any rain today. The temperature reached a high of 32°C and a low of 27°C. Still, with the lowest temperature dropping by 1 degree, could it be that we’re past the middle of summer?

Okinawa Weather Video for 2nd October 2025

Today was another hectic day, so the video clip is a bit short. However, it’s easy to see what the weather was like today, so it’s worth taking a look. Okinawa is still in summer.

Photos of Today’s Okinawa Weather

The view of Route 58 heading towards American Village

This is a photo I took this morning while waiting at the traffic lights on Route 58 heading towards the American Village. It was definitely a clear and sunny morning. In front of me was a Daihatsu vehicle I hadn’t seen before, so I snapped a picture out of curiosity.

The afternoon view of Sunset Beach at American Village

This is the view of Sunset Beach at American Village. It’s a weekday afternoon, and since the peak season in Okinawa is practically over, except for Koreans, there are noticeably fewer tourists. Perhaps that’s why you can hear a lot of Korean as you walk around. After all, it’s the start of the Chuseok holiday.

The appearance of accessible buses in Okinawa Prefecture

I’m not sure if it’s part of Okinawa Prefecture, but I found it fascinating to see a bus for people with disabilities, so I took a photo. Having lived in various parts of the world and travelled to many countries, I’ve come to define a developed country by how much it prioritises welfare for people with disabilities.

Okinawa Weather on 2nd October 2025: Depo Island View

This is the view of Depot Island… It’s clear that the number of tourists has noticeably decreased compared to September. Even though it was around 1 PM, there was still plenty of space available in the main car park. During peak season, you’d have to drive around quite a bit to find parking.

The construction of Riga Hotel is almost complete.

The construction of the Riga Hotel is almost complete. It seems I’ve got another job on my hands.
At this time, it was around 1 PM, and there was not a cloud in the sky for about 30 minutes. It was incredibly hot during this time.

Difficult Japanese

I took a picture of the opening and closing times because it had Chinese characters. These characters are the same in both Japanese and Korean. However, for someone from a non-Chinese character culture, they might look quite amusing. It might feel like a bit of a prank.

Blue Seal Iced Tea

During the shoot, a customer kindly bought me a drink, so I enjoyed a refreshing iced tea in one go. I didn’t know Blue Seal sold these kinds of drinks. I thought they only offered iced coffee and Coca-Cola.

The under-construction Depot Island next to Sunset Beach

I took a photo on my way home after finishing all my work.
They were doing some construction near Depot Island Sunset Beach, but I’m not sure what they’re building. If I were the owner of Depot Island, I would have built a stage for concerts here. It wouldn’t obstruct the view of the sunset at Sunset Beach and could become a local attraction. I go to American Village almost every day… there’s food and shopping, but I think there’s a lack of cultural elements.

The street view of Depot Island

This is the last photo from American Village. There should be a lot of people here, but it’s noticeable that the crowd has thinned out since the peak season ended. It seems there’s a holiday in China as well… I saw some Chinese visitors. They were having a loud argument with the convenience store staff. I saw a Chinese airline plane at Naha Airport yesterday, so I wonder if they came on that flight.

Miebashi River

On the way to shoot at Kokusai Street during sunset. The Miebashi River is, as expected, storing plenty of water. After spending eight days in Miyakojima, it’s clear that the main island of Okinawa is better at managing water resources. On Miyako Island, water shortages are frequent, so they build separate water tanks outside new buildings. It was a great opportunity to understand the local characteristics.

The view of the sunset at Miebashi River

This is the view at sunset today. I was expecting a yellow sunset, but it turned out to be slightly reddish. If we had seen it from the sea near Naha Port, it might have been a different colour. Anyway, I took photos of our customers with this background. [Okinawa Snap Photography]

Sunset on Route 58 in Okinawa

This is the night view of Route 58 in the evening. It seems there are more vehicles leaving Naha than entering, perhaps because it’s just past rush hour. Well done to everyone for today.

Okinawa Weather Forecast

10-day Okinawa Weather Forecast

Typhoon No. 21 has nothing to do with Okinawa, so I’ll skip it.
Here’s the 10-day weather forecast for Okinawa. It’s expected to be just hot, not even a hint of rain. My schedule is very tight, so I can’t afford any rain, and if it stays dry until next week, it will save me a lot of stress. After that, it’s easier to change my schedule. Anyway, even after 10 days, it will still be summer in Okinawa, so if you’re planning to visit during the Chuseok holiday, make sure to pack summer clothes. [Source: Japan Weather News]

That’s it for the Okinawa weather report on 2nd October 2025. I’ll wrap it up here and be back with more Okinawa weather updates tomorrow. Matayasai 👋
