October 5th Okinawa Weather
☀️ Haisai! This is CULT.
Starting the Okinawa weather report for 5th October 2025.
Today in Okinawa, there were few clouds, so the sunshine was very intense and hot. It was a day when a parasol was essential, and sunscreen was a basic necessity. As it was low tide, the sea was shallow, making it a great environment for children to snorkel. There was also little wind, so the temperature felt very high, and it was a day where sweat poured like rain.

Photos of Today’s Okinawa Weather

This is the cat I met in front of the car park on my way to the shoot this morning. It seemed like it wanted someone to come over, but when I got closer, it ran away. It wasn’t too hot yet in the morning.

We arrived at Bise Saki for a morning shoot. The sun is much more intense and it’s hotter than it was two hours ago. Perhaps because there are no clouds, it feels even hotter.

After finishing the morning shoot at Bise Saki, I take a photo. It’s low tide, so the water is shallow, making it a great environment for snorkelling with children. A snorkelling area for kids has opened. There are coral reefs here, so there are plenty of fish even in shallow water. It’s a place that children love.

Even if the water is shallow, always pay attention to safety.

It’s incredibly hot, so I’ll take a short break with a cup of barley tea before moving on to the next shoot. As I always say, the heat in Okinawa doesn’t bother me much. Having done shoots in much hotter places like Barcelona, the heat in Okinawa isn’t much of a challenge for me.

It seems like I’ve been short on weather photos lately… I’ll capture a few more on my way to the next shoot. The next location is the Motobu Orion Hotel you can see in the photo. It’s about a 30-minute walk.

I should have cropped the photo… I realised it later. To give you an idea of how shallow the water is, there’s a person roughly in the centre of the photo. Even though they’re about 100 metres out, the water only reaches their ankles. That’s how warm the water is too.

While walking down the street, I came across an unusual plant and decided to capture it. Its leaves had a reddish hue.

Today’s second shoot wrapped up at Emerald Beach. Emerald Beach is also a fantastic spot for taking photos of children. [Okinawa Snap Photography]

We had lunch before heading down south. After the meal, we enjoyed some zenzai, which is my favourite dish among Okinawan cuisine. The restaurant is called Sawanoya, and I liked it so much that I’m planning to go again tomorrow. The zenzai here is delicious, but the ultimate zenzai has to be from Fujiya…

I’ve arrived at the American Village. Today’s third and fourth shoots are at the American Village. The sunshine is really intense and hot. I’m replenishing my energy with a refreshing drink before the shoot.

I don’t mind this heat, but since the kids are struggling, even if we could take more beautiful photos at the beach, we quickly move to a shaded area or head to an ice cream shop. Whether it’s August or October, the temperature is still a high of 32 degrees, but because the humidity is slightly lower, the kids don’t cry after just 10 minutes in the sun like they do in August.
Photographing children in the Okinawan summer really requires a lot of expertise.

After finishing the third shoot, we’re on our way to the fourth one. As expected, many of the clouds have disappeared…

The final shoot was meant to capture the sunset, and while we got the sunset, we couldn’t do the magic hour. Since it’s Sunday, there were too many tourists, so we wrapped up with just the sunset. In fact, capturing family photos during the magic hour is challenging because the lights on Depot Island aren’t very flattering, which is a bit disappointing due to various constraints.

Before heading home after finishing all the filming, I capture a shot of the night view of American Village. It’s incredibly crowded due to the lack of parking spaces.

After returning home, I took a picture of my T-shirt. I drew a map with sweat. Those white lines are all sweat.
Okinawa Weather Forecast

The 22nd typhoon, which was originally supposed to pass through Okinawa, has changed direction and is now heading towards mainland Japan. Once again, it has become a typhoon unrelated to Okinawa. On a side note… since I started living in Okinawa, not a single typhoon has hit the area.
During the 10 years I lived in Prague, a severe drought began, and when I started living in Croatia for a month, a severe drought started there too… When I lived in Lisbon for a month, the approaching typhoon didn’t come and a drought began… After leaving Prague, where I lived for 10 years, a flood occurred… I seem to bring droughts wherever I go.

So, according to yesterday’s forecast, it was supposed to rain on October 8th, 9th, and 10th… but since the typhoon changed direction like that, it’s just turned back into hot weather. Yes, this Chuseok is expected to be quite a hot week. Make sure to bring your parasol and sunscreen.
That’s it for the Okinawa weather report on October 5th, 2025. I’ll wrap it up here and will be back with more Okinawa weather news tomorrow. Matayasai 👋
