October 17th Okinawa Weather
🌦️ Haisai! This is CULT.
Starting the Okinawa weather report for 17th October 2025.
Today, I had no filming and it was my day off, so I spent the entire day at home. The peak tourist season has ended, and the next peak season starts at the end of October. I have a lot of photo editing work piled up, so I spent the whole day working on Photoshop and only went out in the evening. I didn’t even realise it had rained in the afternoon… It was only when I stepped outside that I noticed the fresh humidity. Seeing the wet ground, I realised it had rained. It was slightly cooler than usual for Okinawa. To me, it felt pleasantly cool and comfortable in the evening.
The temperature was a high of 31°C and a low of 27°C. From my experience, 31°C feels a bit less hot, 32°C is quite hot, and 33°C is very hot. The hottest temperature in Okinawa this year was 34°C in August, and it was extremely hot then.
Compared to 34°C, today’s 31°C felt cool.
Okinawa Weather Video for 17th October 2025
Today’s Okinawa weather video was entirely filmed around the Kokusai Street area. Since I live near Kokusai Street, it’s nice to be able to catch up on the local news from nearby.
Today’s Photos of Okinawa Weather

After finishing filming during the Chuseok holiday season in Korea, I finally had two days to relax, and perhaps because of that, I woke up at noon. I usually only sleep about 5 hours a day, so sleeping for nearly 12 hours is quite unusual for me. Running around with a camera under the intense sun every day is understandably tiring. After waking up and doing some editing work, I went out to shop for dinner, and it was already sunset.

While wandering around the Kokusai Street area today, I noticed quite a few women wearing long clothes or coats. It’s a bit tricky to describe, but although it’s 31 degrees, it doesn’t feel that hot… There are definitely people who find it chilly. About a week ago, seeing someone in long clothes was surprising, but today it was definitely more noticeable. Of course, they were all women.

Oh dear… I came to do some shopping, only to find out today is the market’s day off. Here’s a notice about the temporary closure. So, after a quick think… I’m too lazy to cook, and I haven’t properly cleaned the house for about three months, with delivery boxes piling up and no cleaning done… I don’t want to increase the rubbish with leftovers from cooking… So, I’ve decided to just buy some food and head off to get some Korean-style chicken. There’s a chicken shop at the beginning of Kokusai Street, so I’m on my way to Asato after about a week. Kokusai Street actually starts at a place called Asato and ends at the prefectural office, making it quite a long street. It feels a bit shorter because the monorail station cuts through it.
When I first came to Okinawa, this Kokusai Street felt incredibly large… but after living here, it seems so small. I reside in Okinawa and almost daily travel around the north or central areas for photography. Every time I think about it… Okinawa is really small.

This is Asato Intersection. I was originally supposed to move into one of those apartments you see over there, but due to a mistake by the real estate agent, it got cancelled and I ended up somewhere else. Of course, I much prefer where I live now. I’m on my way home with some chicken, and I decided to walk and push my bicycle instead of riding it… It didn’t feel too hot.

The water level of the Miebashi River is nearly at its maximum. Although rain is forecasted almost daily in Okinawa from October 19th, the expected rainfall is very minimal. It seems it will just be cloudy with frequent drizzles. If heavy rain were expected, they would have released the water from the Miebashi River here in Naha in advance.
Okinawa Weather Forecast

A tropical depression has formed, which may or may not become the 24th typhoon. Currently, its path has no connection with Okinawa. However, as it could suddenly change direction and head north, I’m informing you in advance.
It formed east of the Philippines and is heading towards Vietnam. Since it developed this afternoon, its future path is uncertain. If it suddenly changes direction towards Okinawa, I will provide an update.

Here is the 10-day weather forecast for Okinawa. Starting from the 19th, there is continuous rain expected, but the rainfall itself is predicted to be light. It shouldn’t significantly affect sightseeing, but the cloudy weather might dampen the mood for enjoying water activities. That’s the main concern.
Once I finish my schedule on the 19th and 20th, I’ll be on holiday from the 21st to the 25th, so I can relax a bit. Hopefully, it won’t be heavy rain. [Source: Japan Weather News]
That’s all for the Okinawa weather report on 17th October 2025. I’ll wrap it up here and be back with more Okinawa weather updates tomorrow. Matayasai 👋
