Weather in Okinawa on October 20th

Starting the Okinawa weather report for 20th October 2025.
Today in Okinawa, it rained almost all day. At times, the rain was quite heavy, while at other times it was a constant drizzle, with only brief moments when the rain stopped. An umbrella was essential, though there were no strong winds. The temperature reached a high of 28°C and a low of 24°C, marking the coolest day of this summer.
The sky was overcast all day, with hardly any sunshine.

Today’s weather video captures nothing but rain. Since living in Okinawa, this is the first time I’ve witnessed such prolonged rainfall. It seems to be the longest rainy day of 2025 so far.

This is the scene from this morning. The video captures the rain, and although it’s hard to convey in the photo, it’s currently drizzling. Perhaps that’s why the elementary school baseball practice isn’t happening today. They usually practice even with a light drizzle, but today’s weather isn’t suitable for that.
Today’s shoot was cancelled, so I’m effectively on holiday from today. I have a week off now, but I’ve been working on Photoshop at home all day. Then, when the rain stopped for a moment, I went out to buy a bento. The bento here is delicious. [Ajimiya]
The rain stopped for just a moment, and then a drizzle began again. The wildflowers with raindrops on them looked so pretty, I decided to take a picture.
I happen to know a trick for using coin parking cheaply, and there are affordable parking lots available every day, so I came to move the car. This car is called a Fit Hybrid, and I’ll review it soon to let you know. Ever since I rented this car, it’s been raining every day, so I haven’t been able to take photos 😭
List of affordable parking lots on Kokusai Street is available, so it might be good to have a look.
We’ve moved to a slightly cheaper car park. It’s 30 yen cheaper per day, and you can use a card here… You can even earn points, so I often park here on purpose. By the way, as soon as I parked, it started raining heavily.
At this time, the rain was quite heavy. An umbrella was absolutely essential, and I was walking around with one. Even in the photos, you can see it’s raining quite a bit.
I’ve come to the convenience store to buy barley tea. As expected, there’s a light drizzle. There are many great eateries around here, and if I can just sort out the Okinawa snap editing, I’ll introduce many to you. Maejima is truly… a food lover’s paradise 👍

Okinawa is surrounded by rain clouds. Just two days ago, there were hardly any clouds, but yesterday they suddenly increased significantly. It’s not quite a typhoon, but it’s a steady rain with heavy drops. This rain is expected to continue until this Friday. [Source: AccuWeather]
Here is the 10-day weather forecast for Okinawa. Ishigaki Island is experiencing a lot of rain as it is under the rain clouds that bring the most rain, even though it’s not a typhoon.
