Okinawa Weather Report for 21st August 2025. Today was a hot day without any particular issues. Typhoon No. 12, Lingling, has dissipated near Okinawa and has moved towards the Japanese mainland, so it is no longer a concern. For the time being, only brief showers are expected. It would be good to have an umbrella and sunscreen.
Okinawa Weather Report for 20th August 2025: Today was an ordinary summer day. The average temperature felt slightly cooler by about 1-2 degrees, so it wasn’t extremely hot, and with the strong breeze, it was quite a suitable day for sightseeing. However, it was still quite warm.
Today, August 19th, the weather in Okinawa turned into an ordinarily hot summer day as Typhoon No. 12, Lingling, was unexpectedly downgraded to a tropical depression and weakened. However, perhaps due to some lingering effects, a cool breeze blew throughout the day, offsetting the perceived temperature caused by humidity.
As of August, you can receive Pokémon merchandise as a Happy Meal toy at McDonald’s in Japan. Although they are designed for children, if you’re a fan of Pokémon, why not give it a try? Of course, what you get will be random.
From tomorrow, Okinawa will be under the influence of Typhoon Lingling, the 12th typhoon of the season. The expected rainfall per hour varies by region, but it’s anticipated to be quite heavy, around 10-30mm. Although the typhoon’s intensity is mild, it would be a good day to prepare activities that can be enjoyed indoors while travelling in Okinawa.
Today, August 17th, Okinawa was quite hot. There were occasional squalls of rain lasting about 10 minutes, but they were nothing to worry about and didn’t interfere with our filming, so we carried on as planned. Although it’s a bit warm, the weather is very pleasant for travelling.
Today, on August 16th, the weather in Okinawa saw rain in the early morning, with sporadic squalls in the afternoon. In certain elevated areas, you could observe rain on one side while it remained clear on the other. Overall, it was hot, but it became slightly cooler after sunset.
Today, on August 15th, Okinawa experienced quite a bit of rain in the early morning. Fortunately, the heavy rain fell during the hours when most people were not active. By morning, the weather turned very clear, and the air was fresh. Around noon, there was a light drizzle in the northern areas, but it was not at all a hindrance to enjoying sightseeing.
Today, on August 14th, Okinawa was quite hot, but with a cool breeze blowing throughout the day, it actually felt cooler than the recorded temperature. There was a bit of rain in the early morning, and a light drizzle for about 5 minutes in the morning, which made it feel slightly more humid.
Today, 13 August, the weather in Okinawa was still hot. Even so, it wasn’t as hot as Korea or mainland Japan, and thanks to the light, distant influence of Typhoon No. 11 “Beodeul”, the breeze was wonderfully cool. It was an ideal day for sightseeing and enjoying the water.
Today, on August 12th, Okinawa was quite hot, but there was also a lot of wind, so it didn’t feel overwhelmingly hot. It was a perfect day for enjoying a swim in the sea, and Typhoon No. 11, Bavi, is gradually moving away.
Typhoon No. 11, Bavi, is diverging completely from its original forecast and moving away from Okinawa. Therefore, there is no impact on the main island, and although rain is expected on Ishigaki Island, it doesn’t seem like it will be heavy. Today, Okinawa was sunny and hot.
Today, on August 10th, the weather in Okinawa was very hot. Although it was better than yesterday, the sunshine was still very intense, and many people flocked to the beaches across Okinawa. It was an excellent environment for enjoying water activities, and Typhoon No. 11 is gradually moving away from the main island.
Today, on the 9th of August, the weather in Okinawa was extremely hot. The sunshine was particularly intense, and although there was some breeze by the sea, the lack of wind in Naha city made it feel even hotter than usual. It was the perfect day for enjoying water activities.
Today, on August 8th, Typhoon No. 11, named Bavi, has formed over the distant eastern sea of the Mariana Islands. It is moving towards Okinawa, following the edge of the North Pacific High.
On August 7th, Okinawa greeted us with a splendid sunrise and a sunset that blazed a deep red. The weather was stunning, but it was also an exceptionally hot day. In the south, it hadn’t rained for several days, so it didn’t feel particularly humid, but in the north, it felt quite humid.
On August 6th, the weather in Okinawa was characterised by slightly lower humidity, but the sunshine was very intense. With a high of 32°C and a low of 27°C, the reduced humidity compared to other summer days meant the discomfort index was lower, making it a great day to enjoy a swim in the sea.
On August 5th, the weather in Okinawa was extremely hot. Although the temperature itself was lower than on other days, the sunlight was very intense, making a parasol and sunscreen essential for the day.
