Makishi Market Handmade Burger Yura Yura 2nd
👋 Haisai! I’m CULT.
Today’s Okinawa food story is about a burger place called YURA YURA 2nd, which you can enjoy at Makishi Market on Kokusai Street. It’s located just a block away from the main road of Makishi Market, so it’s more frequented by local students than tourists. The taste is quite good, and there’s a special Okinawan drink that you can only try at this shop, making it worth a visit.

📌 Location and Opening Hours
The restaurant is located near Makishi Public Market and can be easily visited by following Google Maps. ⏰ Opening hours are from 10 AM to 7 PM every day. [Google Map]

The restaurant is located near Makishi Public Market and, although it’s in an alleyway, the sign is so large that it’s very easy to find. This is the only unique shop on this street. The shop is named Yura Yura 2nd, but it seems there isn’t a 1st.
🔍 Interior and Ordering

This is the interior of the place. It was my third visit, and during my first visit, all the students were here, each with a burger, studying, so it didn’t feel like the right time to take photos. However, this time I came during a quiet period with no customers, so I managed to take a few pictures.

The menu has Japanese on the front and English on the back.
Today’s Okinawa restaurant review features two menu items. The first is the Simple Menu, which includes a simple burger, fries, and a drink. The second is the Ham Sandwich Set, which includes a ham sandwich, fries, and a drink.
- Simple Set (シンプルセット) 1,420 yen
- Ham Sandwich Set (ハムサンドセット) 1,360 yen

When you order a set menu, you can enjoy unlimited drinks. You can have coffee, tea, or soft drinks, but I decided to try a unique beverage that is only available at this restaurant.

It’s none other than Pineapple Shikwasa Juice, a blend of two of Okinawa’s specialities: pineapple and shikwasa. There is a fizzy version and a non-fizzy version available. Perhaps it’s an opportunity to enjoy two of Okinawa’s specialities at once? 😊

This is a carbonated drink made by mixing pineapple and shikuwasa. The pineapple flavour is slightly stronger, and it’s a bit different from the experience at Shikuwasa Park. The one I had at Shikuwasa Park was much more tangy. It’s the kind of taste that might force you into a diet, so to speak.
Many of you might not have visited Okinawa Pineapple Park, and even fewer would have been to the more exclusive Ogimi Shikuwasa Park. So, enjoying two of Okinawa’s specialities in one drink could be a nice way to experience them. But many of you might not even know what Okinawa’s specialities are, right?
🍔 Simple Burger Set

This is the simple burger set.
It seems a bit larger than the photo on the menu. It looks much bigger than a Big Mac. The vegetables are fresh, and the patty is nicely cooked. Above all, the smile drawn with ketchup is really cute. As expected from Japan 😘

The chips are just ordinary well-fried chips. I did feel a bit reluctant to ruin the smiley ketchup. As for the burger, you can try compressing it to fit in one bite. The bun and vegetables are soft, making it easy to press down and reduce in size. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. With this, I’ve completed my list of three burger places I’d recommend in Okinawa. Another joyful day 🥰
🥪 Ham Sandwich Set

Next is the ham sandwich set.
It seems that Japan, like Korea, is quite enthusiastic about shortening words. With its inherently photogenic appearance, it might just be the kind of Okinawa eatery that Instagram enthusiasts would love.

The sandwich is, of course, delicious, and the fries, just like last time, are almost too good to spoil with smiley ketchup. It’s something everyone can enjoy without having to open their mouth wide like for a burger 😘

Last time, I tried the pineapple shikuwasa juice as a fizzy drink, but this time it’s the non-carbonated version. Both are delicious, but if I had to choose, I preferred the fizzy one. Previously, I tried it without ice, but this time I added some ice. Of course, the set menu includes unlimited drinks with ice.

You can enjoy a sandwich without needing to compress it like a simple burger.
However, it seems that burgers are more filling. For those who can’t eat much, ordering a sandwich might be a better option. After finishing mine, I felt a bit unsatisfied with the portion. It’s a slightly disappointing feeling…

This is how it looked after we finished eating. It’s a bit of a shame that the cute ketchup smile is gone. Even the ham sandwich set was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed.

Here is the receipt. I have so many Okinawa restaurant reviews to upload that I’m currently posting those filmed at the end of June in mid-July. I’ve got a lot of Okinawa snap photos to edit these days, so I can’t upload a lot at once. It’s all thanks to your frequent visits 🥰
That’s it for today’s introduction to Okinawa’s dining spots. I’ll wrap it up here and return in a few days with more news on Okinawa’s restaurants. Matayasai 👋
