October 9th Okinawa Weather

Starting the Okinawa weather report for 9th October 2025.
This morning in Okinawa, we were treated to a rather pretty sky and an emerald sea, but around 10:30 AM, a light drizzle began, and then infinitely large dark clouds started to form. Although the rain wasn’t heavy compared to the large clouds, the atmosphere turned quite gloomy, so all of today’s afternoon filming schedules have been changed.
It was quite windy, and the amount of sunlight was significantly reduced, making it a rather cool day. However, perhaps due to the drizzle, the humidity was quite high, with a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum of 28°C, typical of Okinawa’s summer climate.

Today’s weather video from Okinawa shows nothing but cloudy and dark scenes. I’d love to show you a prettier view, but since most of the weather is like this today, it’s good to take a look at the real situation. Despite the clouds and darkness, there were still plenty of tourists as it wasn’t raining heavily.

It’s early morning, and I’m on my way to the American Village. Perhaps because it’s rush hour, the traffic is quite heavy. Up until this point, the sunlight was strong, so I was thinking it would be another hot day and was preparing for a busy day ahead… However, the clear weather only lasted until the morning.

Today, I had to spend the entire day at the American Village, so I took my One More Coffee receipt from Starbucks and was passing the time. However, it turned out to be a waste in the end. I didn’t have a reason to stay at Starbucks, so I couldn’t use it.
When you have an iced coffee, the receipt shows a One More Coffee message, which allows you to get the same drink at about a 50% discount. Those living in Japan probably know this well. As a Korean, I find it quite an interesting benefit.

This is the Zhivago coffee kindly bought by a customer during our first shoot of the morning. Zhivago coffee is truly delicious, so if you visit the American Village, make sure to have a cup. [Possibly the best coffee in Okinawa, Zhivago Coffee]

This is a view of Sunset Beach taken at around 10:40 in the morning. At this time, the sunlight was just like any ordinary summer day. However, the wind was strong and the waves were powerful, so the sea at Sunset Beach was slightly murky. The sea should have looked clearer, but even in the photo, it appears a bit cloudy.

The Riga Hotel is almost completed. I’ve been watching the construction progress every time I pass by.

This is the sky I captured while waiting for the next meeting. One side is cloudy, and the other is clear blue.

This is Defo Island, taken after finishing the second shoot… It’s cloudy with dark clouds. It started to get quite overcast midway through the shoot, but we took care to film in the clear sky areas.

As there’s not much time until the next meeting, I have a quick meal with items bought from the convenience store. The barley tea is from a brand called Cherio, and it’s sold in vending machines for 100 yen, so I end up getting it several times a day. It’s such a wonderful brand.

The afternoon schedule got all mixed up and changed to another day, so I took a moment to relax at Blue Seal because of the evening schedule. It’s been such a long time since I’ve just sat down to drink something and unwind. This is melon soda, with a scoop of Blue Seal ice cream on top, allowing you to enjoy both the drink and the ice cream without getting anything on your hands.

In the end, all the afternoon schedules were changed. So, I just took a few more weather photos and called it a day. It’s been a while since we’ve had such a long stretch of cloudy weather in Okinawa.

This is Sunset Beach around 4 PM. There is some sunlight streaming through, but there are more dark clouds, so it’s not very pretty.

This is the last photo before we wrapped up. Although it didn’t rain heavily, it was very cloudy… not exactly the best weather to set the mood.

This is a photo of a student taken on the way back. It seems like the future of Japan’s Koshien. It looks like the student used to play baseball. More importantly, notice how the ground is damp. Although there wasn’t heavy rain, the drizzle made it feel like it rained a lot. I’ve been observing until the evening, and still, there hasn’t been any heavy rain. Hopefully, it will be clear tomorrow.

Okinawa Weather Forecast

The 23rd typhoon won’t directly hit Okinawa, but it is slightly within its influence. While there won’t be heavy rain, strong winds and waves are present. Hopefully, it will pass quietly without heavy rain or dark clouds. [Source: Japan Weather News]

There is news of rain in Okinawa from the 10th to the 12th. It’s the end of the holiday… I hope it doesn’t rain. If there are any special weather issues, I’ll let you know again.
