Okinawa Weather on 18th June
🌥️ Haisai! I’m CULT.
Recently, we’ve had a week of very intense and sunny weather, but today it seems like the heat is taking a little break. It’s cloudy and slightly less hot than last week. Of course, I’m still not using the air conditioner. I thought the weather in Okinawa would be consistently hot after the rainy season ended, but today was slightly more pleasant.
Miebashi Area

This is a photo taken at home around lunchtime.
It was a bit cloudier in the morning. The forecast said it would rain, but it was slightly warm instead. Judging by the clouds I saw throughout the day, I thought there would be a shower at least once, but in the end, it didn’t rain.

I’m on my way to the convenience store to buy a lunch box. The student passing by is naturally dressed for summer, and they have dolls hanging on either side. This is quite common in Japan, and when I recently went on holiday to Busan, I noticed that Koreans also often hang dolls on their bags, just like the Japanese. Well, being neighbouring countries, it’s natural to have similarities.
Late Afternoon Around Tomari Port

I suddenly felt the urge to see the sea, so I headed towards Tomari Port. As it got later in the afternoon, there was more blue sky, even if just for a moment, I captured the moments when the blue sky was more visible.

From Tomari Port, you can embark on tours to various islands west of Okinawa. If you’re looking to explore in more detail, I recommend giving it a visit. However, to be honest, I haven’t done many island trips myself, so I’m not too familiar with them. I’ll try more and let you know!

This is the view of the ships docked at Tomari Port and the sea.
Yes, today I just felt like seeing the sea, so I came out for a while. When I lived in Prague, there was no sea, but now I live in a place where I can see the sea whenever I want.

Taking photos like this makes it feel a bit more like you’re at sea, doesn’t it?
What do you call that? When a boat docks, they tie the rope to that post, right? Somehow, having that there really gives it an authentic sea vibe.

I was working, so unfortunately, I couldn’t capture today’s sunset.
By the way, what you see in front is the Tomari Bridge (泊大橋). Some people often ask where this is, so I’ve attached a link to [Google Maps] for your reference.

This is now the scene on the way home from work. Even though the temperature has dropped slightly compared to last week, it’s still summer. Naturally, summer attire is the norm. I was also walking around in a short-sleeved shirt, shorts, and Crocs slippers. Since the sun wasn’t too strong today, I didn’t see many people wearing long clothes that cover the whole body.

This photo is of the Miebashi riverside. If you look around the riverside, you’ll notice that the water level has slightly dropped, right? Usually, if there’s a weather forecast predicting rain, they release water from the Miebashi river to lower the water level. However, it didn’t rain today.
Especially when heavy rain is expected, they release enough water that you can almost see the riverbed.

When it comes to understanding the weather, seeing how people are dressed is the best indicator, isn’t it? The gentleman in front… he’s got an umbrella, hasn’t he? If a local has taken an umbrella to work, it means rain is definitely expected today. I heard there was rain forecast today, so I decided not to do the car rental shoot… perhaps I should have just gone ahead with it.

After exploring the sea and doing some shopping, I returned home and noticed the beautiful clouds in the distance. I thought, “I should use this photo as today’s thumbnail!” so I captured one. I really enjoy watching clouds. I hope these fluffy clouds and blue skies continue for many days to come.

And after having dinner, I diligently work on coding. I’m currently creating an admin dashboard to make blogging easier and faster, and to incorporate various technologies.
By the way, there’s a forecast for rain on Friday. The expected rainfall is 1mm… I have a snap shoot in Okinawa that day, and with that amount, there’s no need to worry at all. I just hope to capture the blue sky and clouds together.
I’ll wrap it up here and return tomorrow with more fresh Okinawa weather updates. Matayasai 👋
