Okinawa Weather on 28th July

🌦️ Haisai! I’m CULT.
Today’s weather in Okinawa was quite a mixed bag. Although there were glimpses of blue sky suggesting it might be a lovely day, it was generally overcast. With the revival of Typhoon No. 8, Komai, we experienced some light drizzle from 4 PM onwards. Even before it dissipates, Typhoon No. 8 has been quite weak and is expected to remain so until it leaves Okinawa.

The View of Miebashi

This is the scene around Miebashi around noon. People are dressed lightly.
Today feels more humid than hot. It’s not so much the heat but the humidity that makes it feel warm.

The customer mentioned they would be about an hour late due to a delay in picking up the rental car, so I had some zenzai and relaxed at a café. As always, zenzai is delicious. If you’re in Okinawa, do try zenzai, it’s delightful. You can even find it at Lawson convenience stores now, or at Fujiya…

The rain… started precisely at 4 PM. It was a very light drizzle and continued almost until midnight. It wasn’t heavy rain, just a very long-lasting light drizzle. Originally, the forecast predicted 1mm per hour from 3 PM to 9 PM for six hours, but it felt like it rained a bit more than that.

This is the scene on Kokusai Street. By my standards, it was the kind of rain that didn’t require an umbrella, but since you’re on holiday, do use one. You wouldn’t want to head back to your accommodation with wet clothes, would you?

On the way home after the shoot. When it rains, having a snack and exploring Makishi Market is also an option. There’s even a Don Quijote connected here.

There was some influence from Typhoon No. 8, Komai… It rained for a long time. Although it was a typhoon, it didn’t feel like one at all today.

Okinawa Weather Video

Today, I have quite a few photos and videos taken near Makishi Market. I recommend trying the delicious Agu pork tonkatsu at a restaurant there. It’s really tasty. I’ll keep it short today and will be back tomorrow with more updates on Okinawa’s weather. Matayasai 👋
