Okinawa Weather on August 3rd
🌦️ Haisai! I’m CULT.
Today, I bring you the Okinawa weather report for 3rd August.
This morning, we experienced a short but intense downpour lasting about an hour, followed by a day with skies so beautiful they seemed straight out of a Japanese animation. It was a day with a very typical Japanese sky. The temperature reached a high of 32°C and a low of 28°C, and it wasn’t as scorching as the previous days. Although it rained in the morning, it felt noticeably less humid than yesterday. That said, it doesn’t mean it wasn’t humid at all.
Okinawa Weather Video
Riding a bicycle around certainly makes it harder to film videos. So, I only have four clips, but I’ve captured a brief glimpse of Okinawa today. The video I shot today will be uploaded today, or if I’m too busy, it will be uploaded the next day.
The View of Miebashi

This is the morning view. The blue sky is noticeably accompanied by rain. It’s what we call a sudden shower. This kind of weather is very common in Okinawa during the summer. When preparing for a trip to Okinawa, people often get worried if the weather forecast predicts rain.
In Okinawa, rain falls like this all the time. It’s only when a typhoon comes that you need to be cautious about going outside; you don’t need to worry about the usual sudden downpours.

The sky to the east and west is very blue, while to the south and north, it’s quite cloudy and overcast. Of course, after about 30 minutes, it all turned into a clear blue sky.

Today, I cooked at home, but I got the zenzai from Lawson convenience store. It’s really delicious, so do try it. Of course, the best zenzai is from Fujiya.
The View of the West Coast in the Afternoon

It’s under the Tomari Bridge… There’s a cat taking a leisurely nap. In Okinawa, the number of stray cats is low because the TNR programme is well managed through public-private cooperation. This helps in controlling the population.

A cruise ship from a brand I’ve never seen before has docked.
When Kokusai Street is bustling with people, it’s likely a Taiwanese cruise, and when there aren’t many people around, it might be a Chinese cruise. Chinese tourists tend to stay in hotels run by Chinese, shop at souvenir shops run by Chinese, and dine at restaurants run by Chinese, so they don’t stand out much.
Therefore, in my perception, Taiwan seems to be a much wealthier and more prosperous country than China.

This is Naminoue Beach. It was a bit warm today, wasn’t it? Perhaps because there were so many people, three lifeguards were wandering around to ensure safety control.

This is the view from above, and it closes at 6 PM. It’s about time for the lifeguards to finish their shift.

I visited Naminoue Shrine after a few days. It’s on my riding route, so I often come here, but I haven’t been able to visit lately due to continuous outdoor shoots. There aren’t many tourists today.

This is Kokusai Street. It’s a Sunday afternoon, so it’s the time when tourists start to leave. That’s why there weren’t too many people even in the evening. I always think this, but… there seems to be a shortage of palm trees on the left here. For the beautification of Kokusai Street, I think a few more should be installed.

Before heading home, I went to buy a drink. The empty space on the left is for Pepsi Zero, and on the right is the regular sugar Pepsi. None of the sugar Pepsi was sold, so it seems like it would make more sense to display more Pepsi Zero.
I’m not usually the type to spend money on drinks like these, but since it’s hot, I kept wanting to drink something.
That’s all for the Okinawa weather report on August 3rd. I’ll be back tomorrow with more Okinawa weather updates. Matayasai 👋
