Okinawa Weather on July 1st

Today’s Okinawa weather report started in the afternoon. I was quite tired yesterday, so I ended up sleeping all morning and only started working in the afternoon, which is why the photos begin from then. Unfortunately, I’m not sure about the morning conditions, but around noon the weather was so lovely that I’m sure it must have been nice in the morning too. The highest temperature was 32°C, and the lowest was 26°C, with occasional light drizzles throughout the day.
Recently, there’s been a lot of talk about earthquakes… The strongest earthquake I’ve felt in Okinawa was akin to someone lightly nudging my chair while I was sitting.
The Route from Miebashi to American Village
It’s noon. I usually don’t need much sleep, but after shooting every day under the scorching sun, I find myself needing a nap or going to bed earlier at night. So today, I started taking weather photos in the afternoon. This is a photo of the Miebashi area. Once again, the weather in Okinawa is absolutely beautiful today.
The UV rays are still strong, so a parasol or sunscreen is essential. If you dislike the sticky feeling on your skin, wearing light but covering clothes is fine. I meet people travelling from Korea every day, and they say it’s more humid and hotter there than in Okinawa right now.
In my opinion, the hottest place is Osaka, followed by Daegu, then Tokyo, Busan, and finally Seoul. Even though Okinawa is hot, there are no high-rise buildings, it’s open on all sides, and there’s always a breeze, so the humidity feels fresh, making Okinawa more comfortable than those places.
From my experience, Osaka at 35 degrees feels overwhelmingly hotter than Africa at 45 degrees.
I’m on my way to buy some bread for lunch. There’s a delicious bakery near my house. I’ve introduced it on my Naver blog, but I haven’t uploaded it to Cultravel yet. I’ve been busy preparing to open the rental car website, so I haven’t been able to manage it properly lately. I’ll open it soon and share lots of travel information with you. [Naver Blog]
Today, I deliberately took the bus to American Village.
This is because I need to create content on how to get to American Village by bus. Honestly, driving there is faster and saves on fuel costs. It’s true. A round trip to American Village by bus costs about 1,500 yen, whereas with a small car, the fuel cost is less than 800 yen. If four people take the bus, it amounts to 6,000 yen, but with a small car, considering the weight, it would be around 1,000 yen, right?
Bus travel in Okinawa…? I wouldn’t highly recommend it 🙅
Today, I’m starting another photo shoot in Okinawa. The client mentioned that they were late because it took too long to pick up the rental car. Well, it’s fine for me as I can gather material while taking photos, but the rental car company I’m working with is striving to significantly reduce these time-consuming processes.
Okinawa Weather: American Village
It’s Tuesday today, yet there are many people relaxing at Sunset Beach. Well, isn’t this kind of leisure exactly what we travel for?
There was a brief moment during the shoot when I couldn’t take photos, so I captured a picture of the clouds instead. There was a light drizzle at that time. It was around 5:40 PM.
After finishing the Okinawa snap shoot, I capture one more shot. It looked like an egg yolk placed on the sky.
Today, there seem to be quite a few Westerners around. Well, it’s July, which is holiday season for Europeans. Europeans don’t tend to travel very far. There are plenty of places to visit nearby in Europe, so they don’t often come all the way to Asia.
When I lived in Europe, I also went on holiday to places like Egypt, Portugal, and Spain.
I need to write an introduction about Depot Island, and I usually gather photos whenever I have a moment. The advantage of this blog is that I can easily archive past photos into a database and retrieve them later. There is so much to introduce about American Village that it takes quite a long time to prepare the content.
Really… it’s a Tuesday afternoon, yet there are quite a lot of people here. Everyone is dressed in cool summer attire. Naturally, since it’s summer.
These are people resting near the tetrapods. The tetrapods here are not very high, so they aren’t particularly dangerous, but it’s still best not to climb them. The western side has shallow waters, making it less risky, but the eastern side has deeper waters, so falling from the tetrapods there can be very dangerous.
This is today’s thumbnail photo. It’s of a person diving. It’s actually a restricted area… I wonder how they got in there..?
The Evian pouch event held at the American Village Lawson convenience store has… finally ended with me. Thanks to it, I managed to organise our USB cables neatly at home.

Although I plan to reuse these photos later, they were definitely all taken on 1st July 2025. I’ve been writing daily weather posts on my Naver blog for over 10 years, so it’s become a habit. I always want to show you the beautiful side of Okinawa.
Wrapping Up at Miebashi
I also took the bus on the way back. Since I didn’t take a car in the first place, I had no choice but to use the bus. I once travelled around Jeju Island for three months using only buses, and it was possible back then. The bus system in Jeju is quite well developed. Some Koreans still find it inconvenient, but using buses in Okinawa? I think it might be almost an impossible mission for Koreans.
I captured a shot of the moon hovering above the Tomari Port building. It looks quite small, doesn’t it?
Still, today felt noticeably less hot than other days. Of course, grey sweat mixed with sunscreen trickled down my face, but at least my clothes weren’t soaked as if it had rained.
Now that I’ve finished writing, it’s already 10 PM. I need to write an article on how to handle accidents during a rental car trip in Okinawa, so I’ll wrap it up here for today. I’ll be back tomorrow with more updates on the Okinawa weather. Matayasai 👋
