Okinawa Weather on June 20th

Today, the weather in Okinawa was truly unrealistically beautiful. Although it was quite hot, it was such a wonderful day that it more than made up for it, so I’m sure those of you currently in Okinawa found the weather well worth it. The temperature reached a high of 32°C and a low of 27°C, which is quite warm, but with the accompanying breeze, it wasn’t just a one-sidedly hot day.

Evening of 19th June

This is a photo I took last evening. It seemed too precious to discard, so I’m sharing it to show you how beautiful 19th June was!

Isn’t the cloud that looks like it’s been hit by a bomb quite beautiful? Last night was a day when you could have a handful of flaming fruit.

June 20th: Around Miebashi and Kokusai Street

This is how it looked this morning. With such nice weather from the start, it already feels like it’s going to be a wonderful day.

It’s still morning, and I’m on my way out to buy an energy drink, which I have every morning. It’s another wonderful day. By the way, this lovely weather has been going on for a week now.

It seems like people are on their way to work. Everyone is dressed in summer attire. I originally intended to just capture the buildings and the sky, but suddenly the signal changed, and everyone started walking briskly…

This is the way to Makishi Public Market. I captured a photo while waiting for the traffic light. The afternoon weather is also very beautiful.

I used to think the sky in Prague was the most beautiful in the world, but Japan is equally stunning. I wish every day could be like this.

This is the scene on Kokusai Street. Perhaps because it’s Friday afternoon, there are definitely more people than yesterday. You all know to dress lightly, right? It’s summer, after all…

Central Okinawa, Chatan

In the afternoon, I came to Chatan for a snap photography session. I also needed to review a rental car, so I was looking for a spot to take some photos of the vehicle. I can’t always take them at Umikaji Terrace, can I?

This is a view of the Okinawa sea taken from a walking path in Chatan. Seeing the horizon always brings me peace.

I captured this because the clouds looked impressively like a bomb had gone off.

This looks almost unreal, like something out of a visual novel game I played as a child. It’s so beautiful that I’ve decided to use this photo as today’s thumbnail. Setting a thumbnail is important because… I’m developing a chatbot, and once I’ve completed a full cycle of posting daily Okinawa weather for a year, next year, when you ask the chatbot “What’s the weather like next month?”, you’ll receive the latest weather information, the actual weather I’ve experienced, and photos based on the thumbnails.
Some people might think I’m just a photographer, but I also work as a full-stack IT developer on the side 🥰

American Village

Today’s main place is the American Village. Well, it’s more accurate to call it Depot Island. When you visit Okinawa, you’ll actually be visiting Depot Island rather than the American Village. The location is [Google Map]
By the way, I took a quick snap of a couple passing by, and it’s the quintessential summer look. Naturally, since it’s 32 degrees in the video… In case you’re wondering how to dress, this is how people are dressed. Just giving you a heads up.

Having lived in Europe for 11 years, I find these buildings a bit childish. Well… still… for those who haven’t travelled to Europe yet, they might feel exotic. So, I focus more on the clouds blending with the blue sky rather than the buildings.
Someone once said that the marketing manager of Depot Island was very narrow-minded and unresponsive… but that’s not true. They’re not narrow-minded. Why would they say that to me? It feels a bit unpleasant, doesn’t it?

This is the beach at Depot Island. In the evenings, it becomes bustling with numerous buskers.
Today, for some reason, there was a woman shedding tears while listening to a love song. Could she have experienced heartbreak? The street musician at the time was singing “Let it Be”.

After finishing the shoot for today’s restaurant post, I headed towards the shopping street to take some weather photos. The sky and clouds here are absolutely stunning.

These are children playing on the tetrapods. In Korea, people are often told not to climb up there, but I’m not sure about Japan. As far as I know, it’s quite dangerous…

This is the view of Sunset Beach. Perhaps because it’s a Friday afternoon, there are quite a few people enjoying swimming. It’s not as crowded as Haeundae or Gwangalli in Korea. The reason is… there are so many beaches in Okinawa. If it’s too crowded, you can just drive about 10 more minutes to find another beach.

Could that person be a YouTuber? It seemed like they were talking to a group rather than just having a video call on their smartphone. It was so impressive… If I were a YouTuber, I might have filmed it the other way around. Or perhaps not? Maybe they were showing the sea to their subscribers. I guess I still have a lot to learn…

This is a food truck by the beach. They sell refreshing drinks and things like zenzai. Personally, I really enjoy taking photos of children while ice cream is being served, as I can predict how Blue Seal will look in the pictures, you know? I don’t particularly favour food trucks because the style of food varies so much. Often, the photographic results don’t meet my expectations.
Even though I claim to shoot without a concept or direction, I still work within a somewhat predictable range. This ensures that the value of the snap photos doesn’t fall below a certain minimum.

After walking around a bit, it’s quite hot. I went to Lawson convenience store and bought an Evian.
Did you know? In Okinawa, Evian is quite affordable. There’s not much price difference compared to regular water. Why is this important? Well, among the diverse readers of this post, mothers with babies should pay attention.
When babies travel abroad, they often experience stomach issues from drinking local water because it doesn’t suit their bodies. So, if they get used to drinking Evian in Korea, they can continue drinking it when travelling abroad. Even if the water is expensive, Evian’s source is the French Alps, so its composition is the same worldwide.
Since I take a lot of baby photos, I tend to notice these things.

Evian wasn’t selling well in Okinawa… The once prestigious Evian is now offering a free pouch as part of a promotion. You can’t get that in Korea, so head to Lawson convenience store and grab an Evian.

Sitting down for a brief rest, I reapply some sunscreen. I bought this from Muji, and it’s quite good. Why is it good? Well, if you see my age and skin condition while I’m shooting… Ah, you’ll realise the sunscreen’s effectiveness.

Heading to the shade to write a car rental review and on my way to a meeting for a snap shoot. The sunlight was so beautiful, I captured a moment.

American Village at Sunset

The sun is setting over Okinawa. Perhaps because it’s a Friday evening, there are many people sitting on this breakwater enjoying a leisurely time.

This is a landmark that represents Depot Island. It gradually takes on a purple hue.

The beautiful sunset is reserved for the client’s snap photography session, so I’m uploading the remaining photos.

This is the night view of American Village as the sun sets and the lights come on. In fact, Amevil is even more beautiful at night. It was originally designed for this purpose.

I’m on my way home after finishing all my plans. Even though I only had the fan on this evening, it wasn’t particularly hot. I still haven’t turned on the air conditioner.
Anyway, today was another fulfilling and productive day. I’m especially pleased because I feel like I’ve somewhat succeeded in convincing you all to consider a trip to Okinawa.
