Okinawa Weather on June 8, 2025
☀️ Haisai! I’m CULT.
Today, let’s talk about the weather in Okinawa. It’s a bit unfortunate that the upload is late, but please understand as the AI development took longer than expected. We need to do the basic work well to reach more people.
Anyway, today, June 8th, it was very hot in Okinawa. It was the hottest day I’ve experienced in 2025. The temperature reached a high of 33 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, and the sunlight was also very intense.

This photo was taken at home in the morning.
It was a day off, and the weather was so nice that I wondered where to go… I was curious about the progress of the Shuri Castle cultural asset restoration, so I decided to go by bicycle.

Even though I used an electric bicycle, it was quite hot.
I hadn’t moved a few hundred meters from home, and my T-shirt was already soaked with sweat.

Near Asato Station, you can get a rough idea of what it felt like today by looking at the people passing by.
Shuri Castle

It’s the road going up to Shuri Castle by bicycle. Even though it’s an electric bicycle, going uphill was very tough. The current temperature was still 33 degrees Celsius, and the sunlight was very intense.

In front of the Shureimon Gate of Shuri Castle.
I moved to the south gate to park my bicycle. It was a Sunday afternoon, so there were quite a few tourists. It seemed to me that there was a high proportion of Taiwanese tourists.

After parking the bicycle, I was so hot that I immediately ran to a vending machine and downed a bottle of water.

I’ll show you the inside of Shuri Castle in a separate post introducing the tourist site.
For now, let’s focus on the weather as this post is about the weather.

This is the view of Okinawa from Shuri Castle.
It was very hot and tiring to climb up here, but it felt like reaching the top of a mountain after a hike.

Even though it was extremely hot, seeing the beautiful blue sky and white clouds gave me energy. It’s truly beautiful weather.
Near Kokusai Street

After viewing the restoration status of the Shuri Castle cultural assets, I came down near Kokusai Street. Every Sunday from noon to 6 PM, Kokusai Street in Okinawa becomes a car-free zone, so I walked my bicycle instead of riding it.

Since it’s an electric bicycle, it weighs about 30 kilograms… It was heavy, so instead of walking through the car-free zone, I quickly headed home. I saw a pretty flower on the roadside and took a final photo.
Then, as soon as I got home, I took a cold shower.
Today was a very hot day. But the sky was beautiful, so I felt good.
I’ll wrap it up here and come back with more Okinawa weather updates tomorrow. Matayasai!
