Okinawa Weather on June 9, 2025
☀️ Haisai! I’m CULT.
Today was originally scheduled for a full day of rental car review shooting, but I received an urgent call from the boss early in the morning, so I ended up spending most of the day at home developing AI. If things had gone as planned, I would have gone out, taken many photos, and captured various things while sweating profusely, but today was a bit less eventful.
Still, even though I went out briefly, it was hot enough to make me sweat, so the heat remains the same.
Naha City and Kokusai Street

This is the view of Naha City from my home in the morning.
The blue sky always excites me and makes me feel good. At this time, the temperature was 32 degrees Celsius. It hadn’t rained for a few days, so the humidity was high but not unbearable.

This is roughly how people passing by were dressed. It seems a bit too hot for long clothes, doesn’t it? Naturally, I’m wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt and shorts while wandering around Okinawa. Crocs slippers are a bonus.

This is the view of Kokusai Street at dusk. Despite it being a Monday evening, there are quite a few people. According to the news I saw yesterday, the rainy season in Okinawa has ended. It was supposed to rain today too, but instead, the sun was just scorching.

This is how Westerners were dressed. Well, they tend to feel the heat more than Koreans, Japanese, or Taiwanese, right? How do I know that? I lived in Prague for 11 years before moving to Okinawa last year.
So, I know very well that Westerners find the summer humidity in Asia quite challenging. If I get the chance, I’ll share some stories about Prague next time.

There are quite a few people here too. It was nice that there were fewer cars. I’m riding my bike around now. It’s hard to take pictures in the middle of the road when there are many cars.

This photo shows what the weather was like today.
Well, it’s a summer evening, so it’s obvious, but everyone’s outfits look cool and comfortable.

For dinner tonight… I went to a supermarket called Maxvalu, which is part of the Aeon Mall chain nearby, and did some grocery shopping. I found some delicious inari sushi. I happened to have some leftover wasabi at home, so I grabbed one.
Miebashi Daily Life

As I was leaving the supermarket, I saw a Hyundai Ioniq Electric taxi.
I was delighted and took a picture. When I lived in Prague, there were occasionally Ioniq police cars too.

Come to think of it, I hung the laundry outside today.
Usually, on summer days in Okinawa, laundry doesn’t dry well outside, but today it dried quite well.

I’m eating the wasabi and inari sushi I bought earlier. It’s really delicious when eaten this way. The combination is great, so you should definitely try it. It may not look fancy, but it’s tasty, so I recommend it.

I’m finishing off the evening with Nest Noodles.
Some people might not know, but Koreans eat this kind of cold noodles in the summer. Since it’s a summer dish, if you’re interested in Korean culture, I recommend trying to make it at home. This is the local Japanese version, so it’s not spicy.

On a hot summer day, bibim naengmyeon is the best.
When I lived in Korea, bibim naengmyeon was my favorite. I loved it so much that I could eat it for all three meals a day. Now, I’m avoiding it a bit for weight management.
That’s it for today. Late at night… it’s not particularly cool. It’s still a bit… not hot, but not cool either. I’ll be back with more Okinawa weather updates tomorrow. Matayasai 👋
