Uruma Kitchen Nerine

👋 Haisai! I’m CULT.
Today, I’d like to introduce you to a delightful restaurant in the central-eastern part of Okinawa that you might want to visit during your travels. It’s called Uruma Kitchen Nerine, a place specialising in omelettes and hamburg steaks. I’ve visited several times already, and it’s so delicious that I highly recommend it to you.
There are plenty of dishes that children will love, so even if you’re travelling with picky eaters, there’s no need to worry. Let’s get started 🫠

📌 Location and Opening Hours

The restaurant is located in Uruma City, in the central eastern part of Okinawa. It might be a bit challenging to reach if you’re travelling by public transport, so it’s recommended to use a rental car. The restaurant is closed every Sunday and is open from 10 AM to 4 PM. [Google Map]

Parking space for six cars at Uruma Kitchen Nerine, a popular eatery in central Okinawa

The parking lot in front of the restaurant can accommodate approximately six vehicles. Since the restaurant is small, there isn’t much need for more parking spaces, so I think six spots are sufficient.

This is the restaurant sign and the view of the restaurant from the outside. If you take a look at this photo beforehand, you won’t just drive past it, will you?

Waiting list for popular restaurants in central Okinawa

This restaurant is generally quite popular among Japanese people. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any foreigners when I’ve visited. When waiting, you need to write your name, the number of people, and the number plate of your parked vehicle on a piece of paper. Then, when it’s your turn, they will call your name. If you visit and it’s full, make sure to fill in your details on this paper.

Okinawa Central Restaurant Cash Only

Also, this restaurant only accepts cash. You cannot use cards, PayPay, Alipay, or similar services. The cost per person is approximately 600-1,000 yen for children and 1,200-2,000 yen for adults.

🔖 Menu Order

This is what the menu looks like. Don’t worry too much; I think you can easily order just by looking at the pictures. I ordered the Combo A set and the omelette rice.

While waiting for your meal, you can use the drinking bar, where you can enjoy unlimited coffee, soup, and water. I particularly like the soup here, so I always have it at least twice. I also had a cup of coffee before the meal and another one afterwards.

🍽️ Omelette Rice and Combo A Set

Okinawa Central Restaurant Uruma Kitchen Nerine Combo A Menu

This is Combo Set A.
It includes karaage, shrimp tempura, and hamburger steak, making it perfect for enjoying a variety of flavours. Plus, it comes with a salad to help prevent a blood sugar spike and sudden weight gain. Well… it is fried food… but let’s enjoy it and then have a good run on the beach 🏃

Okinawa Central Gourmet Spot Uruma Kitchen Nerine Hamburg Steak

This is a hamburger steak. While it’s quite large on its own, this is Combo A, so it comes in a smaller size. It’s a menu that allows you to enjoy a variety of things. It’s a paradise for things kids love, so there’s no need to worry about choosing from the menu, which is its greatest advantage. And of course, it’s delicious 👍

Okinawa Central Gourmet Spot Uruma Kitchen Nerine's Omurice

Next up is omurice 🍳
Once upon a time, I visited Mont Saint-Michel in France, where I first tried this type of dish because it was said to be the local speciality. Back then, I didn’t really enjoy it. At Mont Saint-Michel, there was wine under the omelette, so I couldn’t tell if I was eating an omelette or drinking alcohol, which was a bit… This is more like the omurice I’m familiar with.
Is omurice a Japanese dish? 🤔

Inside the egg, there’s fried rice. It’s a dish that children can also enjoy deliciously.
By the way, if you ask them to leave out the ketchup, they will. Since many Koreans are sensitive to sugar these days, it’s important to mention this. How about visitors from other cultures?

I think this restaurant is worth visiting just for the omurice. The eggs are fluffy and soft, making it a perfect dish to enjoy without any fuss.

Empty dishes after enjoying a delicious meal at a restaurant in central Okinawa

If you’re travelling to Okinawa, I highly recommend this restaurant. While I haven’t visited every restaurant yet, from what I know, this place is the tastiest in the eastern part of central Okinawa. 👍
Rest assured, this isn’t an advertisement or PR. If it were, I would definitely indicate it. Recently, there have been too many bloggers in Korea doing undisclosed promotions on NAVER, which has greatly diminished the trustworthiness of the keyword ‘Okinawa’s best restaurants’. I’ll do my best to restore that trust.

That’s all for today, I’ll be back with more delicious stories about Okinawa’s eateries. Matayasai 👋
