Weather in Okinawa on August 15th
🌦️ Haisai! This is CULT.
Today, August 15th, the weather in Okinawa is quite spectacular. There was quite a bit of rain in the early morning, it cleared up beautifully by morning, and there was a light drizzle at noon. Because of this, there’s even a strange question in the group chat asking if it’s the rainy season in Okinawa now. It’s not the rainy season. The temperature reached a high of 31°C and a low of 27°C, which is slightly cooler than other days. You can definitely feel it’s a bit less hot compared to last week.
Okinawa Weather Video for 15th August
The weather video for Okinawa on August 15th has more clips than usual. I travelled around the southern, central, and northern parts of Okinawa. I’ve captured every instance of rain I witnessed, so I hope you get an idea of how it rains in Okinawa. I’m tired of giving the same answers every day, so I no longer respond to questions like whether it’s the rainy season or monsoon in open chats or group chats 😮💨
The Appearance of the South and North

This is the scene from early this morning.
I woke up at 3 a.m. because that’s when the Claude code tokens recharge. I noticed it was raining outside, so I stepped out for a moment… It was raining quite heavily and the wind was blowing, so I got wet. Still, it was refreshing and nice.

I’m on my way to the northern part of Okinawa for a morning shoot. Perhaps because it’s Friday, there’s a lot of traffic from the morning. I intended to take the national road slowly, but I took a wrong turn and ended up on the highway. The highway is… expensive.

We arrived in front of the Kariyushi Resort, but the filming schedule was delayed by an hour, so we had breakfast a bit early. There’s no place to escape the sun here, so we had our meal under the small shade of a tree. There are a lot of ants around this area. The green dressing sauce is a Japanese-style sauce and it’s incredibly delicious. If you like salads, you must try it.

The shoot has been delayed by an hour, so I’m taking the opportunity to explore a bit. There’s a charger here. Come to think of it, I took the photo that appears in Hyundai’s electric car charger manual. The Hyundai Ioniq and Kona are great vehicles, but I have no intention of buying an electric car while I’m in Japan. It’s inconvenient. In Japan, hybrid vehicles are definitely the way to go 👍

This is Kariyushi Beach.
The development of the plugin for creating content AI training data is almost complete, and once it’s finished, I’ll quickly upload a lot of travel information. By the way, there are a lot of Taiwanese tourists here. It’s also connected with the Oriental Resort, so you can enjoy some benefits. [Google Map]

This is the Oriental Resort. The weather has been quite hot lately, so we often do photoshoots at the resort since the little ones can’t stay in the sun for too long. I thought we were shooting at the resort today as well, but we actually went out to the beach for some shots. We only did a quick shoot at the resort at the end…

The swimming pool at the Oriental Hotel is quite well-equipped. There’s a slide, which children would probably love, and a deep pool in the corner for adults to enjoy swimming. Resort pools in Okinawa are usually very shallow, often catering to children. However, this place is spacious and offers a variety of options. The prices are reasonable, and there are many great restaurants nearby. Plus, it’s close to Nago, making it convenient to go out for a nice meal.

15th August is the day Japan was defeated, and for Korea, it’s the day of liberation. It’s a day of mixed emotions for both countries.

While filming by the sea, a baby kicked the seawater onto the camera, so I was wiping it down since saltwater isn’t good for the equipment. And now it’s raining. In Okinawa, it often rains like this, with sunshowers. It’s common for rain to fall from a clear sky, and I’ve given up replying to each person who worries about this kind of rain.
Weather in American Village

After finishing the morning shoot, we moved to the Central American Village. It was the peak of the heat at this time, even hotter than noon. The northern area might feel cooler because it’s near the sea. Here, there is a lot of asphalt, which might make it feel hotter. Anyway, the American Village felt slightly warmer than the northern area.

I went to Zivago Coffee for a cup of coffee and spent some time writing a Naver blog post. Interestingly, I watched some Westerners using Claude, and they were operating it in a way I hadn’t seen before. It was a really good time learning something new. So tomorrow, I want to bring my laptop and take a closer look. Everyone seems to be making good use of it.

Before filming, I take a few weather photos in advance. As shown in the video, the clouds are quite beautiful today. This is how it appears in the footage. In my Okinawa snapshots, the clouds are often emphasised like this. It’s my personal preference.

These days, I’ve been visiting Teppanyaki Matsumoto frequently for my Okinawa food spot research. With 10 minutes left until it opens, I took a moment to watch people playing games at the arcade. Look at that coin container over there… It’s filled with so many coins, it’s astonishing. They even have a bank here to store coins. Today was another refreshing day, witnessing something extraordinary.

The sun is setting over the American Village. During the shoot, there were about 10 tiny raindrops, but it wasn’t anything to worry about. It wasn’t as hot as expected, so the shoot went quite smoothly. I managed to capture the sunset beautifully, but I was so focused on it that I didn’t take any photos of the sunset weather.

It’s night-time at the American Village. It was so crowded that there was no parking space available, and there were a lot of people around.

The water left in the car got hot… but if you place it in front of the air conditioner, it cools down quickly. It certainly feels a bit daunting to leave anything inside the car. However, placing water in front of the air conditioner cools it down quickly, which is nice.
There are no typhoons near Okinawa, and no clouds to bring heavy rain, so it seems like this weather with occasional showers will continue for a while. There’s no particular issue at the moment, but if anything arises, I’ll provide a forecast then. So, that wraps up the weather talk for Okinawa on August 15th, and I’ll be back again tomorrow.
