Weather in Okinawa on August 27th
☀️ Haisai! It’s CULT.
Starting the Okinawa weather report for 27th August 2025.
Today felt hotter than usual. The temperature reached a high of 33 degrees and a low of 28 degrees. Since I’m filming under the sun every day, I might not notice a 1-degree difference, but with a 2-degree change, I can definitely feel if the day is slightly less hot. However, today was certainly one of the hottest. While filming, sweat usually drips down my face one drop at a time, but today it was falling two drops at a time. I’ve heard that from August, temperatures don’t usually rise to 33 degrees and often drop to around 28-29 degrees, but it doesn’t seem like that’s the case. It’s already almost September. It definitely feels like summer blazes on until September.
I’ve been living in Okinawa for less than a year, so I’m still preparing content about Okinawa’s weather. This content will really come into its own after a year, so for now, I’m trying to experience as much as possible and organise my thoughts.
Okinawa Weather Video for 27th August 2025
Today’s weather video has fewer clips. I was a bit busy today, so I didn’t have much time to shoot videos or weather photos. However, the weather itself was very clear and bright, so I think it would have been beautiful to see with your own eyes. It’s true that the weather is usually better on hot days.
The Sights of Naha, Okinawa

This is the view of Miebashi this morning. Behind the monorail you can see there is Kokusai Street. The sunlight is quite intense from the morning. Still, the blue sky is vibrant and the clouds look very pretty. On days like this, it’s perfect for swimming at the beach or enjoying water activities at a resort.

This photo was taken around 11:20 this morning. Even at this time, it was already a bit hectic, but considering it was taken in a rush, it seems to capture today’s weather quite well.

Today, I’ve come to Wakasa Bento to buy lunch. This is the Tomari Port pier in front of Wakasa Bento. Usually, during the first trip to Okinawa, people don’t often take ferry trips to the western islands. It’s said that from the second trip onwards, many people visit the western islands, and that’s when they come to Tomari Port. The port is beautiful and great for taking photos. Plus, Wakasa Bento is delicious.

Naver Blog tends to ignore the process of completing documents, so it’s more about posting casually and catching keyword traffic. However, Cultravel is about continuously visiting and completing the menus I’ve experienced. After writing this, I plan to add more to the menu and share my thoughts. The food here is delicious, so make sure to grab one when you travel by ferry [Wakasa Lunch Box]

In the evening, I had a [Okinawa Snap Photography] session, so I went out after finishing work. Even though it was around sunset, the sunlight was still very intense and hot. However, I don’t find this level of heat difficult to handle. True heat is like being next to the sea in Barcelona at 45 degrees. After experiencing a shoot in such a place, the fresh 33-degree humidity of Okinawa doesn’t really feel like heat at all.
Summer in Barcelona… it’s like experiencing a dragon breathing fire.

This is the view at the entrance of Makishi Market, right in the heart of Naha, the centre of Kokusai Street, in the late afternoon. Today is Wednesday, yet there are still plenty of tourists. The Okinawa travel industry classifies up until the end of August as the peak season, and from September, it returns to the off-peak season, you know? There are only a few days left in August, and although the number of tourists has slightly decreased compared to the beginning of the month, there are still many around.

After finishing shooting the sunset on Kokusai Street, I took one last weather photo for today. Today’s weather in Okinawa… with few clouds… has a yellowish hue. If there were a few more clouds, it would have a reddish hue, which I prefer for sunsets, so it’s a bit of a shame. However, even with the sun below the horizon, it’s still hot.
Fortunately, there hasn’t been any significant rain for several days, so although the humidity is high, it doesn’t feel like wearing wet clothes as it does after a rainy day. So, that’s it for the Okinawa weather on 27th August 2025, and I’ll give a brief forecast.
Okinawa Weather Forecast

Here is the weather forecast for Okinawa for the next ten days. This is from AccuWeather. AccuWeather marks it as rainy even if just a drop falls. However, from August 27th to September 6th, I have a daily schedule for Okinawa snap photography without a single day off. And rain? I don’t worry about it at all. It doesn’t affect the shoot in the slightest, and since it’s just a passing shower, if it rains, we simply pop into a café for a coffee with the client and resume shooting once it stops. The sky doesn’t even get cloudy. [Source: AccuWeather]
To be precise… it’s more accurate than AccuWeather’s forecast. But people find it tedious to check the precipitation details, so they ask me about the weather for the next week. In reality, it’s better to check the Japan Weather News data for the weather you’ll experience during your trip.

This is data from Japan Weather News. The Japan Weather News data… briefly mentions showers lasting 10-20 minutes a day, which can be ignored. If you can overlook such showers, it’s better to refer to this. In fact, the only likely rainy day in the next 10 days is August 29th. I plan to be at the American Village all day that day, and it seems likely that it will rain briefly and then stop. I’m not worried at all.
In short, the weather until early September is expected to be a series of hot, sunny days with strong sunshine, unless a tropical depression suddenly turns into a typhoon and heads to Okinawa. So, make sure to bring an umbrella and sunscreen. [Source: Japan Weather News]

Of course, this is assuming there is no typhoon, and a large tropical depression cloud mass has formed around the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean. That massive cloud mass is currently heading towards Okinawa, but looking at the data from various national meteorological agencies, it is expected to head towards mainland Japan and the Korean Peninsula. Around September 1st, it seems like there will be more wind than usual in Okinawa, though not heavy rain.
If it changes into something else, I will reflect it in tomorrow’s Okinawa weather report.
This concludes the Okinawa weather report for August 27, 2025. I’ll wrap it up here and come back with more Okinawa weather news tomorrow. Matayasai 👋
