Weather in Okinawa on August 30th

🌦️ Haisai! This is CULT.
Starting the Okinawa weather report for 30th August 2025.
This morning, it rained, and then it alternated between clear and cloudy skies, with occasional squalls of showers throughout the day. The rain didn’t last long, typically falling for about 10 minutes every 1-2 hours. It wasn’t a problem for travelling, just a bit of a nuisance. The weather kept switching between sunny and cloudy. The temperature reached a high of 32°C and a low of 27°C.

Okinawa Weather Video for 30th August 2025

Today’s Okinawa weather video captured the scene of rain falling in the evening. It wasn’t as much rain as I had expected. It was more like a pattern of rain falling for about 5-10 minutes every 1-2 hours.

This is the scene from early this morning. There was quite a bit of rain at dawn. The rain has eased since the morning.

Okinawa Weather on 30th August 2025: Preparing for Traditional Events

Today, I was happily working when I heard music coming from outside, something like the sound of drums? So, I went out to the balcony and saw an Okinawan event taking place. I’m not exactly sure what it is, but I’ve seen it often. Every time I intend to ask someone about it, I end up talking about other things with people who might know, and I forget to find out. I’ll study it and let you know later. It seems to happen almost like a regular monthly event. You can often see people practising it in places like Matsuyama Park.

Okinawa West Coast

Okinawa Weather 30th August 2025 Sunset at Naminoue Beach

This is the view of the sunset on the west coast of Okinawa. It’s [Naminoue Beach].
It’s around 6:30 PM, and usually, swimming is not allowed at this time. The lifeguards are cleaning the beach, so everyone is asked to leave the water. Has the cleaning finished? I can see one person in the water.

Okinawa Weather 30th August 2025 Cleaning Time Naminoue Beach

After taking a brief look at the sea, I got back on my bicycle and rode up towards the Tomari Bridge. It seems there’s not much wind today. Perhaps because of the rain, the humidity is a bit high. Usually, when cycling, the wind keeps things cool, but today, with little wind, I’m starting to sweat.

Okinawa Weather 30th August 2025: The sun resting on the horizon of the western coast's sunset

I’ve come towards the west coast breakwater. I cycled really fast to get here, so I managed to arrive before the sun dipped below the horizon. Since it takes quite a bit of walking for tourists to enter here, I’ll introduce another place on [Google Maps].

Okinawa Weather 30th August 2025 for Fishing Enthusiasts

There wasn’t much wind, but with plenty of clouds, it turned out to be a decent day for blocking the sun. Perhaps that’s why there are so many people here fishing today. Being a Saturday, it seems like a good day to enjoy some leisure time. I haven’t been fishing since I was in the third grade. When I lived in Prague, a friend of mine had fishing as a hobby, but I never tried it because you needed to take environmental education and get a fishing license. I was almost always busy during my 11 years living in Prague.
Well… When I first started working in Okinawa, the company had no money, so any project was impossible. But now, I’m living life doing everything I want. I could upload about great restaurants every day, but I’m testing new programs with each upload, so it’s taking a bit longer. There are just too many bugs…

Okinawa Weather 30th August 2025 Naminoue Shrine at Sunset

This is [Naminoue Shrine].
Perhaps because I came in the evening, there aren’t many tourists around. It makes sense though, as the massive cruise ship was supposed to dock at Tomari Port at this time, but it’s just arriving now. Those people should be filling this place, but it seems the ship’s late arrival is the reason.
By the way, I thought that such a massive cruise ship would be very slow, but when I saw it in person, it was incredibly fast. It was fascinating.

Okinawa Weather on 30th August 2025, Night, Near the Western Entrance of Kokusai Street

This is the scene of Kokusai Street in the evening. When I arrived at Kokusai Street, there was a short but heavy rain for about 5 minutes. So, I was forced to browse in a souvenir shop. While looking at the souvenirs, I thought, “Why is it that in Okinawa, the only things worth buying are food?” Maybe it’s because I haven’t fully grasped the needs of tourists yet. Anyway, if I were a tourist, it seems like the only things really worth buying are food items.

Weather in Okinawa on 30th August 2025, Miebashi River Area

I was planning to have dinner at a ramen shop that I really like, but… they were closed today for a special reason. So, I went to a yakitori restaurant, but again… it was fully booked with a group reservation. Then I tried an eel rice bowl place, but there was a waiting list of five groups… so I just came home. Meanwhile, it rained twice, and by the time I got home, I looked like a drowned rat.
Perhaps because of that, a lot of water was released into the Miebashi River. The mountains and trees are soaked with rainwater and keep flowing down, so it’s the right timing to release the water now.

Anyway… there’s no special information to give about the weather forecast. Even if it rains over the next 10 days, it will only be brief showers like today, lasting 5-10 minutes, and there are no typhoons or large rain clouds near Okinawa, so it shouldn’t affect your travels. Of course, if the sea temperature is above 26.5 degrees, a typhoon can form anytime, anywhere, so if that happens, I’ll update you with new weather news.

That’s all for the Okinawa weather report on 30th August 2025. I’ll wrap it up here and be back with more Okinawa weather news tomorrow. Matayasai 👋
