Weather in Okinawa on August 31st

🌥️ Haisai! This is CULT.
Let’s start the Okinawa weather report for 31st August 2025.
Today in Okinawa, there was a bit of rain in the early morning, which led to a somewhat humid day as the temperature rose. On days when it doesn’t rain at all, even if it goes up to 32 degrees, you might barely sweat if you stick to the shade. However, when it rains in the morning like today, you start sweating just by walking. So, whether it rains or not is an important measure of the heat. Today, it felt even hotter due to the humidity. Still, hot weather is great for enjoying water activities, isn’t it? The temperature reached a high of 32 degrees and a low of 28 degrees, and it’s quite fascinating how Okinawa maintains such a similar and consistent temperature throughout the summer.

Okinawa Weather Video for 31st August 2025

Here is today’s Okinawa weather video. I was quite busy today, so most of the footage was taken in the evening after finishing work. I’m someone who hardly ever takes a day off, so I hope you understand 🙏

Miebashi Area

Okinawa Weather 31st August 2025 Morning Miebashi Rain Followed by Clear Streets

This is the view of Miebashi Street in the morning. It rained at dawn, so the ground is still damp. And since it’s Sunday morning… there’s someone who drank all night and is down on the street. There are many good restaurants around Miebashi and lots of izakayas that operate past midnight. We will continue to upload on Cultravel. Currently, I’m uploading while testing a program that’s still in development, so it’s delayed. Once development is complete, I can focus solely on the content. Please look forward to it 😎

Okinawa Weather 31st August 2025 Morning Miebashi River Water Release Scene

Because of the Asahi Super Dry BLACKPINK stickers, I came to 7-Eleven early in the morning. It’s a bit amusing to be buying beer just after 7 a.m., but there were quite a few people like me purchasing alcohol this early. The morning was pleasantly cool, making it quite nice to sit outside and enjoy a beer. By the way, in Okinawa, there are no ordinances or laws prohibiting drinking beer outdoors.

Okinawa Weather: Cloudy Skies in Miebashi on the Afternoon of 31st August 2025

This is the scene around Miebashi at noon. I went out to buy a lunchbox and realised it’s Sunday today. No wonder the shop was closed. [Wakasa Lunchbox] is really delicious, so it was a shame I couldn’t have it. Still, I went out for a 10-minute bike ride, and it was quite hot.

Okinawa West Coast

Okinawa Weather 31st August 2025 Tomari Area Alleyways

This is the road leading to the west coast near Tomari Port. It’s an alley I really like. You can capture a picture that perfectly explains Japan’s utility pole culture. In Prague, where I used to live, there were no utility poles at all, and when I lived in Korea, I lived in a rather underdeveloped area, so there were utility poles there. They weren’t as neatly arranged as in Japan; they were a bit messy. In nice neighbourhoods or newly developed cities in Korea, there are no utility poles.

Okinawa Weather 31st August 2025 Sunset at Naminoue Beach

[Naminoue Beach] at sunset. Normally, at 6 PM, it’s time for cleaning, so everyone swimming is supposed to be cleared out, but I arrived quite late. So, the cleaning was already done, and after the staff had left, people went back in to swim. Just a note, if you swim when there’s no lifeguard and an accident happens, insurance won’t cover it.

Okinawa Weather 31st August 2025 Tourists swimming at Naminoue Beach during sunset

Tomari Bridge acts as a barrier against tsunamis and jellyfish, but it does make it a bit difficult to watch the sunset at this beach. It’s a very safe beach, yet it’s unique in that you can’t see the sunset. Nevertheless, it was a very good day for swimming.

Okinawa Weather: Sunset on the West Coast, 31st August 2025

This is a photo of the West Sea taken from the breakwater on the west coast. There are many clouds, so the sun is not visible. Anyway, I came out late, and by the time I arrived, the sun had already gone beyond the horizon. The magic hour was a bit dull too.

Okinawa Weather 31st August 2025 People Enjoying Fishing

There haven’t been many typhoons lately, so the wind is quite mild. It feels a bit hotter because of this. However, this is great news for those who enjoy fishing. There were many people fishing today as well.

Okinawa Weather 31st August 2025 West Coast Sunset Point

That spot is a famous place to watch the sunset on the west coast. To reach the breakwater in this photo, you would need a bicycle as it’s quite a walk, so you can come here to watch the sunset. The area is spacious and the tetrapods are installed safely, so it’s secure. [Google Map]

Okinawa Weather on 31st August 2025: The Scene at Naminoue Shrine and Tourists

[Naminoue Shrine] Here we are. The large cruise ship is docking tomorrow, so today there were only a few tourists at the shrine. When I visited, there were 8 people. If the cruise had arrived, there would have been a lot more tourists even at this time.

Kokusai Street

Okinawa Weather 31st August 2025 Evening West Side of Kokusai Street

This is the scene on Kokusai Street in the evening. It’s Sunday today, and there were so many tourists. I was wondering why there were so many tourists even though there were no cruises. Anyway, there are a lot of [Okinawa Snap Photography] schedules this week. It seems like this week is the peak week. I still don’t seem to fully understand what the issue is.

Okinawa Weather 31st August 2025 Night-time Kokusai Street Central Area

Still, it was a bit cooler in the evening. It wasn’t sweaty just by walking, but you would sweat if you ran. After taking this photo, I came home and started writing this Okinawa weather post. It seems I’ve written every single day in August without missing a day. As a side note, I used to write a weather post every day for 10 years in Prague without missing a single day 🤗
After finishing my life in Prague, I took about 10 days off in Korea before preparing to move to Okinawa, and except for those days, I’ve been writing daily in Okinawa too… Only missed 3 days… The company I worked for in Okinawa was very unstable and had no vision, which caused a bit of confusion. I thought everyone in the world was better at business than me. Turns out, that’s not the case.

Anyway… there are no major issues with the Okinawa weather at the moment. Although massive tropical low-pressure clouds have formed along the East Sea of the Philippines, Okinawa is currently under the influence of the North Pacific High, making it difficult for those cloud masses to develop into a typhoon and move north towards Okinawa. Weather can change at any time, but if any issues arise, I’ll let you know again tomorrow.

This concludes the Okinawa weather report for 31st August 2025. I’ll wrap it up here and will be back with more Okinawa weather news tomorrow. Matayasai 👋
