Weather in Okinawa on August 5th
☀️ Haisai! I’m CULT.
Today, I bring you the weather report for Okinawa on August 5th.
Today, the temperature reached a high of 31°C and a low of 27°C, which is slightly cooler than other days. However, the sun was so intense that it felt quite scorching. Those who arrived from Korea today mentioned that Okinawa feels much cooler compared to Korea. It seems Korea is very hot right now. I’ve never agreed with the notion that Okinawa is hotter than Korea, so this comes as no surprise to me.
Anyway, the sun was so strong today that it was a perfect day for swimming.

Today’s weather is captured in four short clips. I think these clips are just right for getting a rough idea of how things are. The sunset is beautiful today as well.
The Scene in Naha on 4th August

This is the view of Miebashi around noon. I stayed up late developing a programme yesterday, so I woke up late, but I always take weather photos out of habit. By the way, the sunlight… is very intense.

As I have a busy schedule for Okinawa snaps from this Thursday until next week, I needed to get ahead with editing work, so I spent the afternoon working and then went out in the evening. Although the temperature was slightly lower than usual, it was still undeniably hot. However, perhaps because it wasn’t raining, the humidity felt a bit less oppressive, which was nice. It wasn’t so hot that I was sweating just from walking.

The attire is quite varied. Typically, in Okinawa, the heat gradually begins to subside from mid to late August. The temperature drops by about 2-3 degrees compared to June and July. This doesn’t mean it’s not hot, but I wanted to point out that even when the temperature is around 29 degrees, you can often see women wearing long clothes.

This is the view of the Miebashi River at sunset.
As expected, no water has been released into the river, and the water has purely evaporated. For now, there is no rain forecast until the weekend, and on Sunday, it’s predicted to rain 0.5mm… but you can assume it won’t come. Even if it does, it will probably be a brief shower lasting about 5 minutes.

The last sight of the day is the sunset at Tomari Bridge. I was supposed to visit Naminoue Beach, but lately, I’ve been experiencing chronic fatigue, possibly due to consuming too many energy drinks in the early mornings. As a result, I’ve completely cut out caffeine. Suddenly stopping caffeine has made me feel extremely tired, so I’m trying not to overexert myself for the time being. Instead, I enjoyed the sunset at the nearby Tomari Port, did some shopping, and returned home.
Even though the temperature has slightly dropped, the evenings are a bit cooler and more pleasant, which is nice. I must stress, though, that this doesn’t mean it’s not hot. Even at night, if you run, you’ll start sweating immediately.
There are no typhoon warnings for the time being, and the heat is gradually decreasing, albeit slightly, making this perhaps the perfect time to visit Okinawa.
This concludes the Okinawa weather report for August 5th. I’ll wrap it up here and will be back with more Okinawa weather updates tomorrow. Matayasai 👋
