Weather in Okinawa on June 24th
☀️ Haisai! I’m CULT.
Let’s begin today’s Okinawa weather report. It was another quite hot day today. The temperature reached a high of 32°C and a low of 27°C, typical of a summer’s day. While driving from the south to the north, there was a brief 10-minute squall, and on my way back to the south after finishing the shoot, there was a light drizzle for about 5 minutes. There was definitely rain in the forecast today, and I saw it with my own eyes.

This is the view of Naha Miebashi from this morning. It looks like it’s going to be another beautiful day, and I’m already looking forward to it.
Okinawa Weather: Motobu Bisezaki

Today’s weather photos were mostly taken near Nago and Bisezaki. I’ve been travelling there daily due to my Okinawa snap photography schedule. So, while I’m at it, I’m also compiling weather photos and a list of great eateries in the north. My immediate goal is to visit all the restaurants up north and document them here on the blog. To train AI, you need to process information in a unique way. I’m already doing that 😀

The island you see over there is Sesoko Island. I have fond memories of staying at a guesthouse there once. It seems like Okinawa has many great guesthouses. Everyone is generally so friendly, which makes the guesthouses feel even better. I took a break here with a drink before moving on.

I arrived at Bise Saki, but as the client mentioned they would be a bit late, I was taking some weather photos. The place visible in the distance is Iejima. I haven’t been there yet, but if I look forward to it, I’d like to visit sometime. However, with the pace of Okinawa snap bookings being so fast, it seems difficult to find the time…

That is Emerald Beach. It’s currently high tide, so even the most beautiful beach in Okinawa can’t escape the effects. However, during low tide, it can look quite bare, so it’s at its best when the water is halfway in.

I spotted someone taking a nap at Bisezaki.
Right next to it is the Bise Fukugi Forest, and taking a nap there could be a big mistake. There are loads of mosquitoes in the forest. While I was shooting there today, I got bitten about 25 times… Even if you stay still for just 10 seconds, mosquitoes swarm at you like crazy. Be sure to bring mosquito repellent when visiting Bise Fukugi. You can’t bring spray from Korea, so get an ointment type or purchase one at a drugstore.
Bise Fukugi is too beautiful a place to leave without taking photos.
Photos Taken While Waiting Around

The client was running a bit late, so I sat on a bench, had some water, and took a rest. This bottled water… I used to drink it a lot when I lived in Prague, Czech Republic, as it’s available there too. It’s called Bon Aqua, and since it’s a Coca-Cola brand, I wonder if it’s available worldwide?

Just waiting can be a bit dull, so here’s a snapshot capturing how people are dressed today. Well… today, dressing coolly is definitely the best choice.

Lately, I’ve been staying up until dawn, so I feel a bit sleep-deprived. I sat at the table for a moment and closed my eyes. When I opened them, I saw a beautiful sky, so I took a picture of it.

A cat I met on the street… But it seems a bit unwell. It looks like there’s quite a lot of discharge coming from its nose. Could it have caught a cold?

I had to take photos of the little ones playing in the water, so I went in a bit. Today, the water temperature on the west coast of Okinawa is… warm. It’s not cool, nor is it hot, but rather pleasantly lukewarm. Since it’s not yet high tide, the current is slow, so it doesn’t feel particularly refreshing.

This is Bisezaki. Unlike two days ago, the water level has risen significantly. Back then, the water was really warm. Today, it’s lukewarm. You can check the conditions from that time in the June 22nd Weather Report.

From here, we have the view of the 21st Century Forest Beach. These photos will be used again in a future post introducing the 21st Century Forest Beach. One of the advantages of this blog is that I can reuse photos later without having to upload them separately. Anyway, this is the scene at sunset today and will be used for the Okinawa weather report.

I capture moments of people sitting and enjoying a picnic or watching the sunset. I often photograph the sunset here during winter. The angle of the sunset differs between summer and winter; in winter, the sun sets right in the middle of the sea, whereas now, it sets slightly towards the northwest.

I’m on my way home after finishing the shoot. This is the road from Nago City to Kyoda Service Area. The food at Kyoda Service Area is delicious. I’ll introduce it to you soon 😀

This is Nago Citizen’s Forest Beach, which I mentioned in yesterday’s Okinawa weather update. This beach faces slightly northwest, and in June in Okinawa, the sun actually sets in the northwest, not the west. Therefore, compared to sunset beaches like Sunset Beach or Busena, Nago Beach offers a much more accurate and beautiful view of the sunset. So, what I’m saying is… Sunset Beach isn’t really a sunset beach. Koreans love the Busena Hotel, but going there in June is… well… not ideal. May or July would be better.

It seems like a group of students have come for a school trip. Spending a day like this… they must be quite the romantic bunch.
I’m not even sure how I’m managing to write this right now. I’m incredibly tired. The extensive shoot covering the whole of Okinawa over six days is finally over. The battle resumes from the weekend. For now, I’ll take a bit of a rest today… and continue with work tomorrow. I’ll wrap it up here and come back tomorrow with more updates on Okinawa’s weather. Matayasai 👋
