Weather in Okinawa on September 13th

🌦️ Haisai! This is CULT.
Starting the Okinawa weather report for 13th September 2025.
Today in Okinawa, it was still hot, but there were frequent squally showers. Especially in the central region, showers were frequent, mainly between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., with heavy showers around 2 p.m. that made visibility poor, but they lasted only about 10 minutes and cleared up quickly, leading to a very sunny day afterwards. The temperature reached a high of 32°C and a low of 27°C.

Okinawa Weather Video for 13th September 2025

Most of today’s video was filmed in the Onna area and around Cape Zanpa in Okinawa. Although the temperature and humidity were high today, it felt less hot than yesterday because there was a lot of wind.

Photos of Today’s Okinawa Weather

The rainy scenery of Onna area in central Okinawa

I’m heading to a hotel called Palace in Moon Beach for a morning shoot. Just before arriving, it started raining quite a bit. However, since the blue sky is still visible, it seems like it will stop soon. If it were going to rain heavily for a long time, the weather forecast would have mentioned it, but there was no such warning today. So, I proceeded with the shoot without worry.

Moon Beach as seen from the Palace in Moon Beach Hotel

Since it’s my first time visiting this place, I explore here and there and think roughly about how to shoot. Although I’m quite good at improvising while doing Okinawa snap photography, it’s still advantageous to have some prior knowledge of the terrain for various reasons.

Moon Beach Entrance

This beach is close to a hotel exclusive for guests, so it’s quite pricey for outsiders to just use the beach. Perhaps that’s why it’s so well-maintained.

The appearance of Moon Beach

The sea on the left is rainy, while the sea on the right has a blue sky. This is a very common squall-like climate in Okinawa. Up until this point, it hadn’t rained, but during the shoot, it started to drizzle a bit.

The soft sands of Moon Beach

And this beach uses very fine sand. They intentionally bring in this type of sand to set up on the beach. Originally, the sand on Okinawa beaches tends to be a bit coarse.

The view of Moon Beach

The waves are quite high today. While filming, I went in up to my ankles, and it was enough to make me sway, so I didn’t let the baby go in past their feet. The waves are quite high for a baby and they could easily fall over.

Footbath and Shower Area

I originally considered writing a separate post about Moon Beach, but it seems I might be a bit short on photos. I’ll take more pictures on my next visit and write a more detailed post then. For now, I’ve organised these photos so I can use them later.

The appearance of the resort

There’s still a bit of time before the filming starts, so I’ll explore a bit more. The breeze is quite refreshing. The hotel has windows, but it seems they’ve deliberately left most of the windows on the first floor open to let the air flow through.

Inside the hotel, there’s a garden like this. The sky is open, so you can tell if it’s raining. During the shoot, rain actually fell through the roof here. It’s designed for rain to come indoors.

Palace in Moon Beach Hotel Car Park

After roughly planning how to shoot, I came to the car park to gather the rest of the camera lenses. It seems it rained a bit here too, as the ground is slightly damp.

Okinawa Weather 13th September 2025 Resort Interior

Every time I tried to go to the beach for filming, it kept raining, so I ended up taking more photos inside the resort. However, I was still able to capture many beautiful pictures. Well, back in Korea, I often did a lot of indoor hotel shoots. I used to go to many first birthday parties for babies to take photos.
The advantage of shooting at a resort is that it doesn’t really matter if it rains. Large hotels like these have palm trees and plenty of beautiful spots to take photos.

Anyway, we wrapped up the shoot by filming inside the resort whenever it rained, and heading out to the beach when the rain stopped. I also took some shots of the chapel next door, as I might need to start shooting chapel weddings from next year.

The interior of the chapel wedding hall

The symmetry is slightly off, but it’s still a beautiful chapel wedding venue.
I can photograph Korean-style weddings and am also good at European-style wedding photography. However, I haven’t yet experienced Japanese wedding culture, so I’m planning to check it out soon. Even if I don’t participate directly, just watching a wedding in that country once will give me a sense of how to photograph it.

The resort is adorned with such beautiful flowers. Perhaps because it’s a hotel in a higher price range, the facilities are truly excellent. The droplets on the flowers indicate that it has rained.

I’ve had a look around the chapel ceremony hall, and now it’s time to head back. I do feel a bit regretful thinking, “I should have tried filming here like this,” but I promise myself that next time, if I film here, I’ll be able to capture something even better as I head towards Zanpa Cape.

Okinawa Weather: The Scene at Zanpa Beach on 13th September 2025

I originally planned to head home quickly to work on some editing… but the weather was so lovely that I decided to go to Zanpa Beach. I also came to plan how to shoot for a family session scheduled at Zanpa Beach next week.
I’ve visited this place quite often, but every time I came, it either rained heavily or the wind was so strong that the beach was often closed. Finally, today I was able to gather all the photos needed for introducing Zanpa Beach. Indeed, the weather is the most important factor.

The view of the Okinawa west coast from Zanpa Misaki Lighthouse

This time, I climbed up the Zanpa Misaki Lighthouse and took some photos of the western sea of Okinawa. Once I reached the top of the lighthouse… the wind, which was already strong, felt even stronger. They say there are 99 steps to climb up the lighthouse. It’s much easier than the Florence Duomo and the steps are much less steep than those of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague.

People fishing at Zanpa Cape

The weather is nice, so there are many people fishing. They are fishing in a really wonderful spot. By the way, the sun is extremely hot and humid at this time, but fishing as a hobby seems quite remarkable.

The Zanpa Misaki Lighthouse seen from afar

I took a little walk to update the photos introducing Zanpa Misaki and to capture some additional shots. This lighthouse looks magnificent from a distance.

A person cycling at Cape Zanpa in the sweltering summer

We’re on our way back after finishing filming at Zanpa Beach and Cape. There are even people enjoying cycling in this heat. Actually, in this kind of heat, riding a bicycle is less hot. I highly recommend exploring Okinawa by bike. It’s less hot than just walking, and there are plenty of sights to see all around the neighbourhoods of Okinawa. It’s a truly charming area.

The sight of Okinawa in the rain, with its sudden downpours.

On my way home, it’s raining again.
In the distance, I saw a massive dark cloud, and about 500 metres ahead, it was raining, while at my current location, it wasn’t. But after about 5 seconds, it started raining where I was too. It’s fascinating how quickly rain clouds can move.

Seven Eleven convenience store PB beverages

The rain stopped quickly again, and I’m on my way home with two drinks. By the way, these are Seven Eleven’s private brand drinks. The white one is really delicious, but the yellow and orange ones are not tasty at all. I ended up just pouring them all down the drain…

Areas with Frequent Traffic Accidents Involving US Military

It’s the Chatan area, and uniquely, it says SLOW here, right? The reason is… this is where US military personnel often have accidents. The road is awkwardly wide, so I’ve witnessed military trucks trying to enter and causing accidents twice.

Anyway, there were quite a few weather photos today. It was a day with frequent squalls. The weather forecast for Okinawa over the next 10 days is that it will remain hot and the sun will be intense, and although not as much as today, squalls are expected to continue. The rain is short, so there’s no need to worry too much.

This concludes the Okinawa weather report for 13th September 2025. I’ll wrap it up here and return with more Okinawa weather news tomorrow. Matayasai 👋
