I’m not currently taking bookings for photo shoots in Prague. These are portfolio photos from a family photo shoot I did in Prague in summer 2024: 2 hours by day and 1 hour at night.

Hi, I’m author S.
Today I’m sharing family photos I took in Prague during the summer vacation season, of a family with a child who looks like a pop idol.

It cost 450,000 KRW at the time, and I'm not currently taking bookings for photo shoots in Prague.
Things to NotePhotographing a child is a physical marathon, so we split the shoot into a daytime session and a sunset session.

Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) and the Royal Garden (Královská zahrada) by Day

I captured the child just as they were, at their eye level.

Dad, mom, and their child stand in the garden with open hands.

We start off with a “What? I don’t know~” pose. So cute, honestly.

The family stands under a blue sky.

Today’s walk-on-air shot is a little special. It comes with extra cuteness.

The family sits with Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) behind them.

I rarely stage photos of kids. Most of the time I just shoot them as they are. Real candid shots, you could say. If I try to make something happen, it only looks more unnatural. Crayon Shin-chan’s mom-style photography 😀

The family sits at a viewpoint with Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) in view.

Photographing kids is overwhelmingly harder than photographing couples. You need good stamina, too.

The family sits wearing sunglasses.

Photographing kids really is a marathon.

The child stands on the railing of a lookout.

This child was easy to photograph. They weren’t the type to vanish or wander off somewhere.
The hardest kids to shoot are the ones who suddenly disappear.. I’m always on high alert about safety, so I really don’t like it when someone vanishes from my sight.

A mom and her child laugh as they look up at the sky.

Just being themselves. Lovely, isn’t it?

Dad lifts the child high into the air.

I didn’t ask for this one. Dad suddenly did it, so I quickly caught it.
I usually frame my photos so the landmarks appear very large, but when photographing kids, where unexpected things often happen, I frame the shots so the child appears large instead.

The family stands with Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) behind them.

When I look at family photo shoots in Europe, they all treat the child as a mere prop, and you can really tell the photographers have no experience photographing kids. Even the way you position kids is different, you know.

The family walks along a garden path.

Not staged this time either. I just took the photo 😀

And here’s one more.

A child touches a teddy bear toy in front of a toy shop.

I took this while passing a toy shop.
I walk past this little bear every day.. but this was the first time I realized it actually moves like that.

The family sits on alley steps.

The key to photographing kids is to shoot everything from the child’s eye level. If you shoot from an adult’s point of view, you get nothing but the ground instead of any landmarks.

The family smiles on the alley steps.

So every time I photograph a family with kids, I end up doing 100 squats whether I like it or not.

Hey, boss, one gelato, a single serving that looks like two, please~
For some reason this looks like something you’d dub with one of those goofy YouTube voice-overs.

I showed them a few different poses to copy.. but all they cared about was eating.. and even that is cute and lovable 💕

The family stands in front of a wall of Schwarzenberg Palace (Schwarzenberský palác).

This is Schwarzenberg Palace (Schwarzenberský palác). There’s an adults’ version and a kids’ version of this shot. This one is the kids’ version, adapted for photographing children.

This is the Third Courtyard of Prague Castle.
Again, I only asked them to sit down, and after that I shot freely.

The child salutes next to a guard.

Salute from the little one!
hahahahahaha
The guard next to them kept smiling, and this is the moment the guard finally managed to keep a straight face.

The family looks at the flowers in a flower bed.

A sneaky shot of them admiring the flowers in the Royal Garden

I took this one with safety in mind.

Wrapping up at Chotek Gardens (Chotkovy sady).
A signature shot is usually taken from far away, right? If you shoot by adult standards, the child comes out as a tiny speck, so you have to move up close like this.

Sliding the sunglasses on.

Charles Bridge (Karlův most) at Sunset

A stroll continuing under the sunset sky.

Next up is sunset.
We begin with a casual walk on Charles Bridge.

The child and parents walk hand in hand, twirling.

Round and round, a waltz

The family walks down an alley.

Still beaming in the evening ^0^

The parents kiss while the child makes a playful face.

Oh no!

Bleh!

Kyuu~ :)?

The family walks along a street in the sunset glow.

They look happy just walking along, don’t they?

Everyone’s doing something different with their hands, haha
That’s fun too.

Hee hee hee
The child’s sunset

The family looks at Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) in the sunset from behind a railing.

I got lucky and managed to take this shot at a spot on Aleš Embankment (Alšovo nábřeží).

I can’t quite say why I took this one. I picked it just because it’s cute.

Huh?

The child looks up.

Hee!

The family stands with the Prague skyline behind them in the sunset.

I took this one just for fun. Normally I’d have to move in closer, but I shot it like this purely because it was fun.

The expression says it all.

Cuteness overload

We also take a short walk on Charles Bridge.
I wish the child and both parents happiness for a very long time.
Thank you for joining me.
