Prague Summer Family Photo Shoot: My Favorite Season
Family photos from a summer walk in Prague with two sons
Hi, I’m author S.
Today I’d like to share some family photos from Prague!
I took these family photos in Prague the previous summer.

Prague Summer Family Photo Shoot Summary
Summer family photos of parents and their two sons, from a shoot whose schedule changed when it started pouring right at the beginning.
Details
We eased into the shoot at Strahov Monastery (Strahovský klášter).. I remember this day.. it started pouring as soon as the shoot began.. so I changed the schedule. It had started off so well, too. It was late afternoon when the color of the sky changed a little. I used to try to avoid going up to Our Lady of Exile on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or public holiday afternoons.

I take photos here and there while they rest like this. Well.. they’re nothing spectacular, but I think looking back at them in about 20 years might bring back some wonderful memories.

Sometimes I take photos of just the kids, and sometimes just mom and dad.
I’ve always valued a clean style that still looks good when you revisit the photos 10 or 20 years later. So my photos might not be quite right for showing off on Instagram.

Simple, clean shots.. there’s no mistaking Prague!

I shoot and edit my photos to keep the subjects sharp, the backgrounds clean and the sky from being blown out to white.. I’m almost obsessively attached to this style. I never compromise. That’s why I can show every photo with confidence.

I have hardly any childhood photos because they were destroyed in a fire.. Even though I took these, I can’t help feeling envious when I look at them.

You can’t go wrong with Aquamare 😀

Of course, I didn’t stage this. The kids were happily playing together, so I took photos. I still made an effort to give these shots a sense of Prague..

We stopped at a shop specializing in trdelník below Charles Bridge (Karlův most). There are lots of cute photos from here too.. but there were too many, so I left them out of this post.

Oh, right, they’ve changed outfits 😀

Aquamare 😀
This is a photography technique too: because children are short, I need to move a little closer to photograph them. The younger the child or baby, the closer I need to get. If I photograph a baby the way I would an adult, the baby ends up looking like a prop for mom and dad rather than the subject of the photo. So even at the same spot, the photos have a slightly different feel 😀

A shot on Charles Bridge too!

I also take a shot with Týn Church (Chrám Matky Boží před Týnem) in the heart of Prague as the backdrop.

Recreating a Beatles album cover.. well.. it doesn’t have to be perfect. This is how memories are made 🙂

Once they’re back to everyday life, mom and dad probably won’t have many photos of just the two of them.. so I need to take plenty while I have the chance 😀

We finish in Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí). I hope you’re always as happy as you were that day.
It was a pleasure spending time with you, and I wish you good health always!
Booking Information
If I resume photo shoots in Prague, I’ll make a separate announcement.
I’m currently not offering photo shoots or taking bookings in Prague. If I resume, I’ll make a separate announcement. If I do shoots in Prague again, a 1-hour daytime shoot would cost about 250,000 KRW, and a 3-hour day-and-night shoot, with 2 hours by day and 1 hour at night, would be around 400,000 KRW. A 3-hour shoot would include 30 edited photos and 450 original photos.
- Because children are short, I move a little closer to photograph them. The younger the child or baby, the closer I need to get, so the photos feel different from photos of adults even at the same location.
- The photos of the kids playing together weren't staged. They were happily playing, so I took photos, while still making an effort to give the shots a sense of Prague.
- There are photos of just mom and dad too. Once they're back to everyday life, they probably won't have many photos of just the two of them, so I like to take plenty on occasions like this.
- I also took photos when we stopped at a shop specializing in trdelník below Charles Bridge (Karlův most). There are lots of cute photos from there, but there were too many, so I included fewer in the post.
- There's a photo recreating a Beatles album cover. It doesn't have to be a perfect recreation. This is how memories are made.
