A candid photo shoot in Prague, with the couple doing their own thing by Charles Bridge (Karlův most) and on the lawn

Hi, I’m author S.
This time, the photos have a very different feel from my usual work. It’s a purely candid photo shoot, with no direction or planned poses. Now this is what you call candid photography 😀

The couple walk down a Prague street as tourists pass by.

Candid Photo Shoot in Prague: Summary

Couples’ photos in Prague, taken without direction, just as they wanted.

●Candid Photo Shoot in Prague
I just showed them where to go, and they did their own thing. All I had to do was frame the shots.
Details
Shoot LocationPrague
Shoot DateApril 15, 2023
Duration1 hour
Group Size2 people
Price₩250000
HighlightsBefore the shoot, they asked for candid photos, so I worked without direction or planned poses. I just pointed out where to go, then framed the shots and took photos without saying a word.
Things to NoteI'm not currently taking bookings for photo shoots in Prague. I'll post a separate announcement if I schedule any.

Before we started, I asked if they had any particular shots in mind.. and, well.. they wanted candid photos. Oh.. I was surprised anyone was asking for this.. and I thought it might be fun to do it again after so long, so that’s what I did.

The couple hug by the river, with Charles Bridge (Karlův most) and boats in view.

This.. wasn’t something I directed. I still wanted it to feel like Prague, so I just pointed to a spot that looked about right. Then I quickly framed the shot and took the photo. Without saying a word, of course.

One partner lifts the woman into their arms in front of Charles Bridge (Karlův most).

Again, I didn’t say a word.
Candid photo shoots tend to be popular with.. couples from different countries. Couples who’ve lived abroad for a long time, or couples from Western countries, tend to try things they’ve seen in films or magazines, so they’ve often already practiced how they want to look. Korean couples, on the other hand, are mostly so busy that candid shoots can actually be a little harder for them. So this kind of shoot works for couples who.. are affectionate in everyday life and have practiced beforehand.

The couple sit cheek to cheek at a riverside café table.

Again, I didn’t ask them to do this either. Even a kiss is over in 1 second.. so quick reflexes really matter. Of course, even if I miss the moment, I don’t ask them to do it again.

The couple sit facing each other beside a stone-paved street.

I’d never even imagined taking a photo from this angle.. and here I am learning something new again. After trying it over several more days of shooting, I’d refined it enough to almost add it to my regular spots by the time I wrote this. Thanks for the idea 😀

A man looks up in front of a bronze statue.

My approach to photographing Korean couples is.. strictly keep-it-proper, so you don’t see this sort of thing in my photos.. but by Western standards, this is very tame 😀

A photo I’m not even sure why I took..
I was walking ahead to see what was going on, then turned around and found them like this. So I took a photo.

The couple sit side by side on a railing with Charles Bridge (Karlův most) in view.

This is one of my regular spots.. but for couples’ photos, I don’t often have them sit there facing the camera. I just showed them where to go, and they did this on their own. Again, all I did was frame the shot and click!

The couple sit leaning against each other by the river.

This spot makes Charles Bridge (Karlův most) stand out in the background.. but if I shoot it like the photo just above, all I can see from where I’m standing is the backs of their heads.. so I change the angle like this.

The couple walk down a lane in front of a pink building.

A carefree stroll 😀

The couple sit leaning against each other on a riverside lawn.

For the lawn photos too.. I didn’t ask them to do anything in particular. I just said the grass looked nice here, so I’d take photos here.. and this is what they did. I quickly find an angle that suits them and take the shot. Another angle I’ve never tried before.

A four-photo sequence shows the couple running into a hug and spinning on the lawn.

Chaaaarge!
I took six frames in total, from the run-up to the hug and spin.. then put four together. Insaengnekeot photos are all the rage in Korea these days.

The couple hug beside a metal railing.

Normally, I wouldn’t even imagine taking a photo like this.. but there they were, so I captured it 😀

The couple walk beside a tram on a street with Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) in view.

It looks like one of my usual shoots.. but again, I didn’t ask them to do anything or give them any pointers.

The couple walk in front of a red tram.

A vintage tram finally makes an appearance in the last photo. Looking at it like this, they look so happy 😀
Have I mentioned this before.. I can’t quite remember.. but when I lived in Korea, I did a lot of celebrity airport fashion photography. Our advertisers would book a celebrity to walk around the airport in our brand’s new clothes, enter a convenience store we’d arranged things with and pick up the drink we were promoting, then head to departures pulling our brand’s suitcase. I’d photograph the whole thing in one take, as though I were sneaking shots. Sometimes we’d even have the manager pretend to stop me from taking photos, completing the illusion. That’s a story from 10 years ago now.
Anyway, right after this couple’s session.. I had a baby photo shoot.. so it was incredibly tiring.. but I still had fun!
May you always be happy and in love. Thank you!

Booking Information

I’ll post a separate announcement if I offer photo shoots in Prague.

I’m not currently taking bookings for photo shoots in Prague. If I offer them again, you can expect to pay about 250,000 KRW for 1 hour in the daytime, or around 400,000 KRW for 3 hours covering 2 hours in the daytime and 1 hour at night. A 3-hour shoot would include 30 edited photos and 450 original photos.
