Prague Candid Photos: I Just Pointed Out Where to Go
A candid photo shoot in Prague, with the couple doing their own thing by Charles Bridge (Karlův most) and on the lawn
Hi, I’m author S.
This time, the photos have a very different feel from my usual work. It’s a purely candid photo shoot, with no direction or planned poses. Now this is what you call candid photography 😀

Candid Photo Shoot in Prague: Summary
Couples’ photos in Prague, taken without direction, just as they wanted.
Details
Before we started, I asked if they had any particular shots in mind.. and, well.. they wanted candid photos. Oh.. I was surprised anyone was asking for this.. and I thought it might be fun to do it again after so long, so that’s what I did.

This.. wasn’t something I directed. I still wanted it to feel like Prague, so I just pointed to a spot that looked about right. Then I quickly framed the shot and took the photo. Without saying a word, of course.

Again, I didn’t say a word.
Candid photo shoots tend to be popular with.. couples from different countries. Couples who’ve lived abroad for a long time, or couples from Western countries, tend to try things they’ve seen in films or magazines, so they’ve often already practiced how they want to look. Korean couples, on the other hand, are mostly so busy that candid shoots can actually be a little harder for them. So this kind of shoot works for couples who.. are affectionate in everyday life and have practiced beforehand.

Again, I didn’t ask them to do this either. Even a kiss is over in 1 second.. so quick reflexes really matter. Of course, even if I miss the moment, I don’t ask them to do it again.

I’d never even imagined taking a photo from this angle.. and here I am learning something new again. After trying it over several more days of shooting, I’d refined it enough to almost add it to my regular spots by the time I wrote this. Thanks for the idea 😀

My approach to photographing Korean couples is.. strictly keep-it-proper, so you don’t see this sort of thing in my photos.. but by Western standards, this is very tame 😀

A photo I’m not even sure why I took..
I was walking ahead to see what was going on, then turned around and found them like this. So I took a photo.

This is one of my regular spots.. but for couples’ photos, I don’t often have them sit there facing the camera. I just showed them where to go, and they did this on their own. Again, all I did was frame the shot and click!

This spot makes Charles Bridge (Karlův most) stand out in the background.. but if I shoot it like the photo just above, all I can see from where I’m standing is the backs of their heads.. so I change the angle like this.

A carefree stroll 😀

For the lawn photos too.. I didn’t ask them to do anything in particular. I just said the grass looked nice here, so I’d take photos here.. and this is what they did. I quickly find an angle that suits them and take the shot. Another angle I’ve never tried before.

Chaaaarge!
I took six frames in total, from the run-up to the hug and spin.. then put four together. Insaengnekeot photos are all the rage in Korea these days.

Normally, I wouldn’t even imagine taking a photo like this.. but there they were, so I captured it 😀

It looks like one of my usual shoots.. but again, I didn’t ask them to do anything or give them any pointers.

A vintage tram finally makes an appearance in the last photo. Looking at it like this, they look so happy 😀
Have I mentioned this before.. I can’t quite remember.. but when I lived in Korea, I did a lot of celebrity airport fashion photography. Our advertisers would book a celebrity to walk around the airport in our brand’s new clothes, enter a convenience store we’d arranged things with and pick up the drink we were promoting, then head to departures pulling our brand’s suitcase. I’d photograph the whole thing in one take, as though I were sneaking shots. Sometimes we’d even have the manager pretend to stop me from taking photos, completing the illusion. That’s a story from 10 years ago now.
Anyway, right after this couple’s session.. I had a baby photo shoot.. so it was incredibly tiring.. but I still had fun!
May you always be happy and in love. Thank you!
Booking Information
I’ll post a separate announcement if I offer photo shoots in Prague.
I’m not currently taking bookings for photo shoots in Prague. If I offer them again, you can expect to pay about 250,000 KRW for 1 hour in the daytime, or around 400,000 KRW for 3 hours covering 2 hours in the daytime and 1 hour at night. A 3-hour shoot would include 30 edited photos and 450 original photos.
