Agave Prague: Mexican Food and Burritos Worth the Price
Gathering for Friday-night cocktails at the bar at Agave in Prague
Dobrý den! I’m CULT.
Today I’m going to talk about Agave, a Mexican restaurant that used to be my top recommendation.
First of all, the food here is good. It’s also very easy to get to, near Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí). Nachos and burritos are the main dishes, so I don’t think they’ll be particularly divisive among Korean diners. If you’ve had your fill of meat and bread while traveling around Europe, I recommend giving it a try.

Agave at a Glance
Tired of meat and bread on your travels around Europe? Nachos or a burrito could make a nice change.

No fake reviews here. This really is a good restaurant.
Fake reviews? A close friend of mine runs a company in Prague that fakes reviews. That’s why I don’t trust star ratings 😀

The menu is gold 😀

I recommend the nachos topped with chicken and the California burrito.
They’re a little expensive, but personally, I think the taste is definitely worth the money.

I first came here 9 years before this May 2024 visit and had been back often since. The interior never seems to change.
It’s a pretty hip place, so it attracts plenty of people who actually dress well, even in Prague, a city of fashion disasters. How should I put it.. people who know how to party. On Friday nights, they line up along that bar and sip cocktails.

Come just an hour later and it’ll probably be pretty full. A reservation is essential if you’re going late in the evening, but you don’t really need one at off-peak times.

It’s something like mango juice.. surprisingly tasty. I ordered a large bottle of water. It costs 125 CZK, but I think water goes best with Mexican food -_-;;

Ta-da! The food finally arrives.

The nachos are pretty much what you’d expect.
They’re neither too crunchy nor too soggy, so even older diners won’t dismiss them as just snack food. They’re really good.

A generous spoonful of guacamole too 😀
These go pretty well with beer. Great for nibbling on while chatting about this and that. Just so you know, the portion is quite large.

This is my top pick, the California burrito. The nachos feel more like something to snack on with a beer, but this is a proper meal. It’s quite a large portion too. You see how I ordered two dishes? If you don’t usually eat much, you’ll definitely have leftovers.

Sliced in two!
I’ve been here so many times, and this dish has never let me down. Do try it.

It’s expensive, but California burritos generally are. That’s grilled steak cut up inside..
I ate so much I nearly burst.. If you have a big appetite, order two dishes. If your appetite is more average, I’d recommend something with a smaller portion.

And this is the restaurant’s own special hot sauce. It’s hotter than capsaicin. It comes with the nachos, and if they don’t bring it, just ask.

The bill came to 985 CZK. That’s a number I’m really not happy with. If it had come to around 950 CZK, I’d planned to round it up to 1,000 CZK.. but a 15 CZK tip would be worse than no tip at all.. so I paid 1,050 CZK including the tip.

I paid by card. Just ask them to charge 1,050 CZK when you pay, and they’ll know the extra is a tip. This restaurant deserves a tip.

This is something like chocolate they give you after the meal. I’m not quite sure what it is either. It’s just chewy and sweet.
Today I’ve talked about Agave, a Mexican restaurant I really recommend in Prague. If you’re tired of the same old goulash, svíčková and koleno during your stay in Prague, give it a try. Try the hot sauce too. It’ll be a fun experience.
Prague’s official tourism website lists the opening hours as daily 12:00–23:00, and I found no news of a closure (checked in November 2026). The menu on Agave’s official website lists the California burrito at 460 CZK and chicken nachos at 340 CZK, up from 430 CZK and 310 CZK on the May 2024 menu. You can also book a table on the website. Please note that the prices in the main review are from my visit in May 2024.
- It's at Masná 2, near Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí). Search for the restaurant name AGAVE.
- I'd say it's roughly 1.5 servings, so it may be a little much for one person. If you don't usually eat a lot, you'll probably have leftovers.
- To me, it's hotter than capsaicin. It comes with the nachos, but if they don't bring it, just ask.
- I paid by card. Tell them the amount including the tip, and they will charge that amount.
- There was a drink like mango juice that was surprisingly tasty. I ordered a large bottle of water because I think water goes best with Mexican food.
- It's something like chocolate, but I'm not quite sure either. When I tried it, it was chewy and sweet.
