Prague Summer Photo Shoot: One Summer Day
Affectionate summer couple photos in Prague, from a lawn at midday to sunset on Charles Bridge (Karlův most)
Hi, I’m CULT.
Today, I’d like to introduce some photos while reading a review from a bride and groom I photographed the month before. There are over a thousand reviews on wedding forums such as Letena, Singyeoldong and Dagyeoldong.. but I always felt shy about reading them, so I rarely checked.. Still, I found myself reading the review on Smart Store right to the end.
After chatting with the bride.. somehow I ended up writing this blog post too 😀
I clicked without thinking much of it—oh, a new review.. and then saw how much scrolling I had ahead of me..
First, thank you so, so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review.
Until recently, I used to lie down to take photos.. but that’s now a thing of the past. The camera I bought a few days before writing this lets me adjust the viewing angle through 360 degrees.. so I don’t think I’ll need to lie down anymore. Of course, if I can’t get the angle I want, I’ll still have to lie down or do whatever it takes, but I appreciate you noticing the effort.
The tune I was humming was probably this one: Chonan Gang’s “I Really Love You.”
I started doing photo shoots in 2011. This was my 13th year. From 2012 to 2014, I worked as a photographer for a company on weekdays and did wedding day and first birthday photo shoots on weekends. I came to Prague in 2014 and had been busy taking photos there ever since 😀

Shall we take a look at the photos?
I sometimes take photos while working out a pose. They capture the process. This wasn’t the shot I had in mind, but I think the bride chose the first photo, where they’re facing the camera, for her review.
I probably spent about 10 seconds editing the photo she posted. I took 460 photos in total, and after removing those with closed eyes or missed focus, 390 remained. I edit all the photos the same way as the one in the review.

Summer Photo Shoot in Prague: Summary
Follow this summer couple photo shoot from a hill overlooking Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) to sunset on Charles Bridge (Karlův most).
Details
I frame these photos with grass along the bottom. I’ve noticed lots of people copying this. Well.. I did tell them to try it, so no complaints 😂

The walking against the sky shots used to take a good 10 minutes to edit.. now, 2 minutes and done.
I spend more time removing bugs flying across the sky and cleaning up blemishes.

As simple and natural a photo as possible. I had a lens just for this shot, but it reached the end of its life recently and went to lens heaven. Beyond repair 🥲

This was a new walking shot I added when I started using a zoom lens on shoots that year. I capture everything from distant walking shots to close-ups in one go 😆
If I have time to spare, you get several versions. If I’m busy.. I don’t do it -_-;;

There are plenty of neat, polished photos too, but today’s selection is all about affection.

Close-ups I only take in good weather!
Click this and select View Original to see it larger! I usually zoom in to 800% when editing, so the photos still look clean when enlarged 😀

Time for an airplane pose 😀

I took lots of photos from the top of the steps the previous year, but that year I mostly shot from below. It’s a little easier to shoot from above, but I’ve got stamina to spare, so no problem 💪

The shots I take here.. are different in May, June and July.

I liked this spot better before the bench was here.. but I suppose I’ll have to get used to it 😀

The original plan was daytime + night.. but the weather was lovely and it looked like there would be a sunset.. so I moved the night portion to sunset. Again, this is my own selection, so I chose the fun photos over the neat, polished ones.

The photos are all out of order ~_~
The Royal Garden (Královská zahrada) used to open only from April to the end of October each year.. but now it opens all year round. You can visit in winter too!

On a computer, you can enlarge these to see the photos at a bigger size. I took and edited them to keep every little detail clean and clear 😀

A spot I’d been using a lot lately 😀
It feels less like Prague and more like a village somewhere in Europe!

A scenic shot at sunset!

Always keep the photos clean and polished! And the poses easy!
When I choose poses.. I keep raising the difficulty for people who are doing well, and lowering it for those who are struggling. If the struggle shows in the photo.. it looks awkward ~_~

There are moody photos too.. but since this is my own selection.. I picked one that looks like Team Rocket making their entrance 🙂

So, to park.. you go like this, then like that, and slip right in. OK?

That sunset is blazing 😀

A new shot I’d been taking a lot lately 😀

Magic hour arrives, and the streetlights on Charles Bridge (Karlův most) come on. It’s about time to wrap up the shoot 😀

I finish the shoot in Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí).
That’s all for today.. 😀
It was a pleasure spending time with you. Wishing you health and happiness always.
Booking Information
If I do photo shoots in Prague again, I’ll make a separate announcement.
I’m not currently offering photo shoots or taking bookings in Prague. If I do shoots there again, I’ll make a separate announcement. If I resume shoots in Prague, I’m thinking of charging about 250,000 KRW for 1 hour during the day, and around 400,000 KRW for 3 hours combining 2 hours during the day and 1 hour at night. The 3-hour shoot would include 30 edited photos and 450 original photos.
- If you're following the directions easily, I make the poses harder; if you're struggling, I make them easier. It looks awkward if the struggle shows in the photos.
- The Royal Garden (Královská zahrada) shown in these photos now opens all year round. It used to open only from April to the end of October each year, but you can now visit in winter too.
- I used a zoom lens to capture everything from distant walking shots to close-ups in one go. If I had time to spare, I took several versions, but sometimes I skipped them when I was busy.
- I only took the close-ups in this post when the weather was good. I usually zoom in to 800% when editing.
- Up to and including this shoot, I used to lie down to take photos. By the time I wrote the post, I'd bought a new camera that lets me adjust the viewing angle through 360 degrees, but if I still can't get the angle I want, I'll have to lie down.
