Točna tram pub: A beer in a retired tram in Prague
A toasty beer aboard a tram parked on the tracks
Dobrý den! I’m CULT.
If you’re visiting Prague, I can tell where you’ll go and what you’ll eat and drink.. without you saying a word. Nothing gets past me in Prague. But today, I’d like to recommend something less predictable.. a new way to enjoy a beer that hasn’t been around for long.
A pub has opened where you can drink beer aboard a tram..

Točna at a glance
Fancy a beer aboard a tram? Take a seat in a retired tram that once ran through Prague.
Details
It’s behind Strahov Monastery (Strahovský klášter), so it’s very easy to reach on tram 22 or 23. That might still sound a bit tricky.. but once you’ve taken a tram even once, you’ll find it really easy to get here.
Prague’s official tourism website lists the season as April through October, with opening hours of Monday–Friday 16:00–22:00 and Saturday–Sunday 11:00–22:00 (checked November 2, 2026). I couldn’t confirm whether it opens in winter, so check the pub’s website before visiting. I found no news of it closing down.

The pub uses a real retired tram that once ran in Prague. A quick story before I go on.. if you ask the tram museum, you can actually buy one of these retired trams. They’ll even ship it to Korea 😀
The stop is no longer in use either, and I like how sitting here on the tracks makes it feel even more like being on a tram.

It’s a tram pub.. but they don’t sell the beer inside the tram.. you buy it outside, here. From what I overheard.. the Czech customers didn’t seem particularly keen on drinking inside the tram. Everyone was drinking outside..
It was foreigners like me who got excited about the novelty of drinking beer inside a tram.
Just so you know.. eating and drinking are prohibited on trams that are actually in service.

There are two kinds of beer.. and I tried one of each.

The beer was pretty fresh, actually. With a constant stream of customers.. of course it’s fresh.
I hear they sometimes run out of beer in the evening and don’t open.

They take cards, by the way.
Samsung Pay, Google Pay and Apple Pay all work. These days, Korean credit cards support NFC too, so you can tap to pay, but some older cards may not work. Check with your card issuer! Korea originally used magnetic contactless payments rather than NFC. It isn’t a global standard

I liked the illustration, so I took a photo 😀
But.. was there a tram 10 in Prague?

I ordered both beers.. and they taste distinctly different from each other. They’re also quite different from Pilsner Urquell or Kozel lager, and remind me a little of unfiltered beer. A slightly toasty flavor, perhaps?

I look around the interior as I sip my beer.. It’s a real tram 😀

The tables come in different sizes, with seating for one, two or four. I think it’s worth a visit if you’re traveling solo too.
But.. the Wi-Fi didn’t work. No network showed up.

The view out the window!

Since this is a restaurant review after all.. I ordered something to eat with my beer. Maybe because I came in the evening.. they said this was all they had available. Cheese and bacon fries.

They’re just something to eat with a beer.. nothing particularly delicious. They do the job as a beer snack.

To be honest, drinking beer inside a tram.. is a bit dull when you live here. So I took my glass outside.

You could come on your own like this.. and look cool sipping a beer. They’ve fitted simple seats to the steps so you can sit and drink there.

There’s no table service, so when you’re done.. just leave your glass where you ordered your beer.
Tempted? I’d recommend Točna if you’re visiting Prague and fancy something a little different! How about a beer here, then a walk around Strahov Monastery (Strahovský klášter) and along the walls of Prague Castle (Pražský hrad)?
- The address is Diskařská 2394 in Břevnov, in the Prague 6 district. It's behind Strahov Monastery (Strahovský klášter), and you can get there on tram 22 or 23.
- Beer is sold outside the tram. You order there, then take your beer inside to drink it.
- There are tables for one inside the tram. If you'd rather drink outside, you can sit on the simple seats fitted to the steps.
- When I visited, they accepted cards and Samsung Pay. Google Pay and Apple Pay worked too, but check with your card issuer whether older Korean cards support NFC payments.
- There's no table service. When you're done, just leave your glass where you ordered your beer.
- I heard they sometimes run out of beer in the evening and don't open. So if you go late, you might miss out on a beer.
